Company Founded in 2018 by CPAs, tax attorneys, and software developers, Taxbit is creating an entirely new category to enable widespread compliant adoption of digital assets for the global economy. Taxbit’s Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform streamlines and automates customers’ tax reporting and accounting activities for digital assets.  Trusted by leading crypto, tech, and traditional enterprises, Big 4 accounting firms, and government agencies (including the IRS), Taxbit solves compliance challenges at scale amidst an ever-evolving regulatory landscape. Taxbit is backed by leading Silicon Valley VCs with teams located in New York City, San Francisco, Seattle, Salt Lake City, and Europe.Opportunity for Impact Taxbit is seeking a Principal Product Manager to lead the global platform strategy that enables Taxbit to support new and evolving information reporting regimes across jurisdictions worldwide -- with an immediate focus on CARF, DAC8, CRS 2.0. We aren't looking for a tax expert; we need a rigorous systems thinker who thrives on complexity and ambiguity. Partnering with our world-class Engineering teams and Tax Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), you will translate dense regulatory requirements into how data behaves and flows, scalable logic, and resilient technical architecture. You will act as the crucial translator between legal reality and engineering execution, ensuring that as global mandates evolve, our platform remains highly self-serve, auditable, and built to handle massive enterprise scale. Role and Responsibilities

Lead Global Platform Strategy:  Define and execute the product roadmap for our expansion into new global information reporting regimes. Own the end-to-end product lifecycle for these regimes (CARF, DAC8, CRS 2.0) within our broader Information Reporting flow. You will design scalable, multi-step journeys detailing how data enters the system, feeds downstream workflows, and generates compliant XML filings across multiple jurisdictions. Translate Regulatory Nuance into Product Reality: Partner closely with Tax SMEs to parse dense source material (specs, standards, regulatory guidance) and translate them into platform rules and intuitive user experiences. You aren’t just taking orders; you are probing, challenging, and proposing better implementations. Guide the Information Reporting (IR) Experience: Champion the integration of global regulatory mandates into our core platform. You will define the essential "what and why"—from proactive eligibility validations to complex bulk action logic—and collaborate closely with adjacent product areas to ensure these capabilities surface as a frictionless, self-serve journey for our enterprise users.   Execute at Scale Under Ambiguity: Run multi-quarter, cross-team programs with hard, external regulatory deadlines. You will explicitly manage risk and scope when requirements are incomplete or changing, successfully navigating to a v0/v1 by establishing strong telemetry and feedback loops. Build Organizational Backbone: Elevate the standard for how Taxbit handles complex, regulated product work. You will proactively identify structural friction (e.g., opaque bug pipelines) and pair your critiques with concrete proposals to improve QA ownership, release processes, and SME engagement models.

Professional Qualifications Required:

Experience: 8-10+ years of total relevant experience in Product Management, with a proven track record of shipping complex, multi-team initiatives in Enterprise B2B SaaS, infrastructure, or data-heavy platforms. Regulatory / Compliance Depth: Meaningful product ownership in domains bound by hard external constraints (e.g., Tax, Info Reporting, Financial Services, KYC/AML, Payments or Privacy). You must demonstrate a clear understanding of how compliance needs constrain product decisions. Systems Thinking: Demonstrated ability to design and explain large-scale systems and flows—understanding how external systems, internal teams, and multiple product surfaces (APIs, dashboards, back-office tools) interact. Cross-Functional Influence: Proven ability to act as a fluent translator between domain experts (SMEs/Legal/Compliance) and technical execution teams (Engineering), complete with exceptionally clear written PRDs and strategy memos.

Nice to have:

ML/AI Product Delivery: Direct experience conceptualizing and shipping ML or AI-powered features within a data-heavy enterprise SaaS platform. Domain Expertise: Direct experience building products for tax information reporting regimes (1099s, CRS, CESOP, DAC7, etc.) or crypto/Web3 infrastructure. You don't need to be a tax expert, but you must be comfortable diving into dense rulesets.

Personal Characteristics

Deeply Curious & Technically Fearless: You aren’t intimidated by dense specifications, tax codes, or API payloads. You view reading source material as a puzzle to be solved and translated into elegant product behavior. High Ambiguity Tolerance: You are comfortable acknowledging uncertainty. You don't need "perfect specs" to move forward; you know how to make smart, risk-adjusted calls when information is incomplete. The "Strategic Doer": You embody the mindset of a growth-stage startup. You can define the 12-month platform vision for a new global regime, but you are equally eager to roll up your sleeves, map out edge-case logic, and write the detailed PRD. Accountability Champion: You are willing to push back on "this is how we've always done it" when it hurts quality or scalability. You lead through influence to get diverse stakeholders moving in the same direction.
