Overview of Role

    • As the KYC Ops Leader, you will lead the full scope of Coins' Know Your Customer (KYC) and Know Your Business (KYB) operations. You’ll be responsible for ensuring all onboarding and verification processes meet regulatory requirements, while driving scalability, operational efficiency, and a seamless customer experience. This includes oversight of both electronic and manual review processes related to identity documents, business documentation, and risk evaluation. You will also be expected to set a clear strategic vision, lead a high-performing team, and collaborate cross-functionally to continuously improve systems and workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Strategic Ownership & Leadership
    • Lead and manage the end-to-end operations of KYC and KYB, aligning with regulatory standards and company objectives.
    • Provide clear direction, structure, and mentorship for the KYC/KYB team, ensuring high performance and accountability.
    • Develop a long-term strategy for KYC/KYB that supports business growth, operational scalability, and regulatory compliance.

    • Operational Execution & Optimization
    • Oversee both electronic and manual identity/document verification processes, ensuring speed, accuracy, and compliance.
    • Lead continuous process improvements to reduce turnaround times, eliminate bottlenecks, and improve user experience.
    • Monitor daily performance metrics, SLAs, and quality standards, and implement corrective actions as needed.

    • Compliance & Risk Alignment
    • Ensure strict compliance with BSP, AMLC, and other applicable regulatory requirements, particularly around Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD).
    • Serve as a key operational stakeholder during audits, internal reviews, and regulatory inspections.
    • Proactively assess operational risks in the verification processes and work with Compliance to mitigate them.

    • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Partner with Product, Engineering, Risk, Compliance, and Payments teams to enhance verification tools, automate manual tasks, and streamline workflows.
    • Provide operational input during product planning and regulatory reviews to ensure processes remain compliant and scalable.
    • Collaborate closely with Compliance and Risk to align policies with front-line operations and ensure timely implementation of regulatory changes.

    • Team Development
    • Build and lead a high-performing KYC/KYB operations team with a culture of accountability, integrity, and continuous learning.
    • Develop training programs and SOPs to ensure consistent execution and team growth.
    • Foster team engagement and professional development through coaching, mentoring, and career pathing.

What We Expect From You:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Management, or a related field (Master’s degree or certifications in Compliance or AML is a plus)
    • 5+ years of experience in KYC, KYB, or Compliance Operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role
    • Proven expertise in both electronic and manual verification of identification and business documents
    • Strong knowledge of BSP/AMLC KYC regulatory requirements and global compliance best practices
    • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to influence and lead cross-functional initiatives
    • Strong operational mindset with analytical, process design, and performance management skills
    • Highly trustworthy, organized, and detail-oriented with sound judgment under pressure
    • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving fintech environment and passionate about building scalable, compliant systems from the ground up
