We are looking for a Senior Engineer – Crypto Accounting Systems to join the Payments & Wallet team (also known as PAW 🐾). The solutions we develop sit at the intersection of crypto and fiat worlds. Our mission is to support customers with deposits and withdrawals, ensuring transactions are compliant and reliable.
This role will focus on building robust accounting systems and workflows that simplify complexities of crypto trading, offset management and PnL reporting. Join us to lead the design and development of advanced accounting infrastructure tailored for the crypto space
What you'll be doing:

Design and Build Accounting System:
Develop robust systems for real-time PnL calculation by counterparty, venue and net positions
Automating workflows for trade aggregation, cost basis tracking and offset reconciliation
Implementing multi-ledger systems that separate proprietary and customer trades while maintaining unified view

Integrate with Trading System:
Build APIs and connectors to integrate trade data from exchanges, wallets, and OTC platforms
Automate the tracking of realized and unrealized gains, accounting for multiple trading venues

Develop Financial Reporting Trade:

Create dashboards and reports for accounting workflows, such as:
Counterparty-based PnL
Venue-specific PnL and cost basis
Consolidated offset management with real-time insights
Ensure compliance with accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP) and tax requirements

Ensure Scalability and Security:
Design systems to handle high-frequency, multi-venue data.
Implement security protocols for financial and trading data integrity.

Collaborate with Internal Teams:
Work with trading and operations teams to define accounting and reporting requirements
Collaborate with finance and compliance teams to ensure accurate and audit-ready systems
What we're looking for:
5+ years of building scalable distributed systems with a strong background in Ruby / Go
Robust Experience in Crypto Trading / FinTech / Financial Systems / Accounting / ERP systems in complex environments
Experience / Knowledge in crypto trading workflows (e.g. hedging, offset management, market making) as well as PnL reporting, cost basis tracking and multi-venue trade reconciliation
Familiarity with financial reporting standards (IFRS/GAAP)
Strong knowledge of REST and Websocket APIs for data experience as well as experience with PostgreSQL and data warehousing tools
Familiarity with AWS cloud platform for scalable deployment
Experience with ETL pipelines, data viz tools and/or financial dashboards
Proven ability to design systems that automate complex valuation and workflows
Bonus:
Exposure in crypto accounting tools such as Cryptio, Koinly or Syla
Exposure to ERP platform / Financial systems such as SAP, Oracle Financials, Netsuite
Knowledge of FIX protocols or exchange API integrations
Familiarity with blockchain transaction tracking and smart contract integrations
