DeFi is a large and rapidly growing segment of the cryptocurrency ecosystem. Identification of key protocols, platforms, and illicit activity in this space is a critical component of the Global Intelligence Team’s role at Chainalysis.

As a Collection Specialist for DeFi you will measure your success by your impact on our customer’s mission. You will build out our dataset of DeFi platforms, protocols, and illicit activity as the ecosystem evolves. This is core to helping our public and private sector customers understand the landscape, investigate threats, and participate in the space with confidence.

In one year you’ll know you were successful if you…

• Have a comprehensive understanding of the cryptocurrency flows tied to specific DeFi applications. Translate this knowledge into labeled data underpinning all Chainalysis products
• Lead our DeFi collections strategy as Subject Matter Expert on the fundamentals and emerging trends related to DeFi
• Accelerate market leading identifications of DeFi projects, platforms, protocols, exploits, thefts, illicit goods & services, scams and other illicit activity in the DeFi ecosystem
• Developed new collection techniques and automation opportunities
• Built partnerships to augment our knowledge of the space
• Become a sought-after and trusted advisor to investigators, analysts, and leadership who seek insight into DeFi activity
• Reviewed the adequacy and completeness of investigations and the data collection methods to determine the authenticity, veracity, and pertinence of that data resulting in more thorough investigations
• Received the Chainalysis Reactor Certification and the Chainalysis Investigations Specialist Course certification and can expertly navigate open-source blockchain analytic tools

A background like this helps:

• Prior experience researching and using blockchain and DeFi technology
• Prior experience using SQL and/or python for data analysis
• Insatiable curiosity about cryptocurrencies and the growing market
• Chainalysis Reactor Certification (CRC), CISC a plus
• Professional experience in data centric SaaS companies, Finance, Blockchain, or Research is a plus
• Additional languages is a plus

• Other technical certifications or academic background are a plus
• This position is full-time remote and requires minimal travel
