What the role involves:
As a passionate and driven Developer Relations Specialist, you’ll be joining our Innovation R&D team at IOHK. In this role, you'll be the vital link between our community, the assigned project(s), fostering strong relationships and championing their needs. You will be a key player in understanding the challenges developers face, gathering feedback on solutions, and promoting awareness of our projects both internally as well as externally.
- Cultivate and nurture relationships within the developer community through active participation in online forums, social media channels, and relevant events.
- Organize and lead regular community calls, workshops, and meetups to facilitate knowledge sharing and gather feedback.
- Act as a trusted advocate for the developer community, effectively communicating their needs and perspectives to internal teams.
- Develop and execute a content strategy that addresses the needs and interests of the developer community.
- Create high-quality content, including blog posts, articles, tutorials, videos, and sample code, to educate and inspire developers.
- Identify and collaborate with community members to co-create content that amplifies diverse voices and perspectives.
- Stay abreast of project roadmaps and developments to effectively communicate updates and gather feedback from the community.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to ensure alignment between project goals and community needs.
- Identify and address potential roadblocks or challenges faced by developers in adopting and utilizing our projects.
- Develop and implement strategies to grow and strengthen the developer community, fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment.
- Monitor community channels and forums, responding to inquiries and facilitating discussions.
- Identify and cultivate relationships with key influencers and community leaders.
- Work closely with internal teams, including product, engineering, marcomms, and leadership, to ensure alignment and effective communication.
- Provide regular updates and reports on community activities, sentiment, and feedback.
- Contribute to the development and execution of developer relations strategies and initiatives.
Who you are:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in developer relations, community management, or a similar role.
- Experience working with blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies is highly desirable.
- A strong portfolio of community engagement activities, content creation, and/or technical contributions is a plus.
- Excellent social and interpersonal skills
- A solid understanding of software development principles and practices, with the ability to engage in technical conversations with developers.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Proven experience in building and nurturing online communities, with a deep understanding of community dynamics and engagement strategies.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including empathy, active listening, and the ability to build rapport with developers from diverse backgrounds.
- A proactive and solution-oriented mindset, with the ability to identify and address challenges effectively.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, adapting to evolving community needs and project priorities
