We are an exciting Berlin based NFT/DeFi crypto project, that is already break-even and looking to hire a CTO.
We have experienced high-growth in the last few months and are planning on launching our new platform within the next month.

We are looking for a CTO / Head of Engineering in Berlin to shape the technical vision, build and oversee an ecosystem of strong developers and entrepreneurs in the fast growing crypto space.

The CTO also leads in the design of technologies that enhance new capabilities, platforms and personnel to meet the short and long-term needs of our rapidly growing platform. Our ideal candidate is a great communicator and solutionist who is eager to roll up their sleeves and resolve any issues. Our CTO is a high-level thinker, researcher and architect who can partner with our CEO and executive team in realizing our goals and aspirations.

We are looking for a highly motivated and inquisitive person, with knowledge of the blockchain or DeFi / NFT ecosystem and a never-ending curiosity to learn and master new technologies and practices. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a senior technical leadership position and deep expertise in building and shipping consumer facing products.

Tasks

• Lead and manage the technology planning, development and post-development process of critical projects (including QA and protocol audits)
• Collaborate with the executive team to design and architect core software components
• Support the vision, mission and guiding principles of our company
• ​​Hire, train, inspire and work closely with engineering teams, made up of product managers and developers (internal or external) to ensure the delivery of the quality platform/products and oversee the full lifecycle
• Supervise system development life cycles (SDLC)
• Partner with other stakeholders, build/update and deliver a balanced roadmap that includes an appropriate management of technical debt (make sure the ideas we discuss have the right technical plan before giving them to the development team)
• Document the requirements and the architecture and design proposed to provide the software solution
• Constantly improve yourself by keeping up to date with the latest technologies and blockchain / web3 trends
• Promote and build collaboration, accountability and responsibility spirit within the team
• Be a clear communicator and active listener

Requirements

• 7+ years work experience, 3+ years as a CTO / VP of engineering / CPO or similar role, focused on working with developers and growing a developer community
• A good sense of product and startup release cycles
• Security-minded and always keeping an eye out for potential threats and vulnerabilities in your code
• Comfortable working in a small team and self-managing workflow, milestones, and reporting
• Experience in building and leading a high performance team of blockchain developers, engineers, and support staff
• Experience with AWS, software design patterns, modern web architectures, web applications, and data dashboarding
• Have a track record of working effectively with other senior managers, technical and non-technical

Awesome extras:

• You have worked with a FinTech, Blockchain or DApp product before
• Web3 / DApp / Metamask / Ethereum experience is a plus
• Passion for blockchain technology, crypto-economic protocol design, game theory and/or decentralized finance is a plus
• Experience writing, testing, deploying and verifying Solidity applications is a plus
