Seedify invites applications for a Combat Designer to helm the combat design of a high-profile, AAA 3rd person action game. As the Combat Designer, you will define and enhance the combat mechanics that are central to our game's identity. Working closely with the Gameplay Director and a diverse team of game development professionals, you will innovate and refine player interactions and combat dynamics to deliver an immersive gaming experience. This role offers the chance to not only implement your vision for fluid combat systems and engaging mechanics but also to lead and mentor a team of talented designers.
 
Responsibilities
•Develop and fine-tune combat mechanics to align seamlessly with the game’s strategic vision.
•Analyze and tune critical combat features including timing, impact, and interaction modes.
•Foster intuitive and rewarding combat dynamics that engage players at all levels.
•Spearhead the integration of combat systems with other game mechanics to enhance overall gameplay coherence and excitement.
•Lead combat design reviews and testing, utilizing player and team feedback to refine and perfect the combat experience.
•Maintain awareness of industry trends and advancements, applying best practices and innovative techniques from PVE and PVP game genres.
•Iterate collaboratively with engineers and animators to ensure technical feasibility and to execute precise combat mechanics.
•Create detailed documentation to track design decisions and support transparent communication across the development team.
•Drive the recruitment and selection process for combat design roles, identifying and attracting industry-leading talent.
•Manage production timelines, resource allocation, and task scheduling to efficiently meet development milestones.

Qualifications:
•Proven experience as a Combat Designer, specifically in combat system development for contemporary AAA PVE and PVP games.
•Deep understanding of combat design principles and a track record of balancing complex gameplay elements to craft compelling combat experiences.
•Hands-on experience with design tools and scripting languages, such as C++, Python, or visual scripting (e.g., Unreal Blueprints).
•Expertise in Unreal Engine or similar high-end game development platforms.
•Demonstrated leadership skills with the capacity to mentor and manage design teams effectively.
•Exceptional communication abilities, capable of articulating complex concepts clearly and collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.
•Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to fast-paced, evolving project requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:
•Extensive and detailed experience with Unreal Engine highly preferred.
