UI/UX Designer
The UI/UX Designer role at SELF ID represents a pioneering position within an early-stage startup focused on building the identity layer of the internet.
This role is particularly unique due to SELF ID establishing a new identity paradigm, which necessitates innovative and user-centered design solutions. Therefore the ideal candidate must possess a deep empathy for users, enabling them to craft design solutions that genuinely meet the needs of our users. This empathy serves as the foundation for all design decisions and strategies, ensuring that our products are both accessible and engaging for all users.
As the sole UI/UX Designer, you will be charged with the important task of establishing SELF ID’s research and design processes. This involves not only setting up frameworks and methodologies for ongoing design research but also ensuring that the design processes are agile, user-centered, and capable of adapting to the needs of the digital identity landscape.
This is a full-time position reporting to the Product Manager that can be held anywhere in the United States.
What you’ll do at SELF ID:
- Research
- Design and lead a wide variety of research including user interviews and surveys
- Collaborate and share research findings and insights across the organization
- Provide guidance around research methodologies and best practices
- Design
- Create UX and UI deliverables to support product requirements
- Validate and iterate your design and usability hypotheses by building prototypes
- Modify, enhance, and implement design specifications and assets
- Liaise with the Product and Engineering team to support the development process, review builds, and ensure the final product meets your design expectations
- Identify and communicate tradeoffs between design decisions in terms that all stakeholders can understand
What Excites Us:
- At least 4 years of relevant design and research experience
- Interest in the digital identity space
- Experience designing for multiple platforms (web, mobile, etc.)
- Comfortable collaborating within a fully remote work environment
- Extensive hands-on experience leading qualitative and quantitative UX research
- Creative problem solver comfortable dealing with uncertainty
- Self-starter with the ability to self-define goals and strategies
- Significant experience working with cross-functional stakeholders, especially product and engineering
- Familiarity with design and research tools
Salary Range: $90,000 - $120,000 per annum
