About Paxos  Today’s financial infrastructure is archaic, expensive, inefficient and risky — supporting a system that leaves out more people than it lets in. So we’re rebuilding it. We’re on a mission to open the world’s financial system to everyone by enabling the instant movement of any asset, any time, in a trustworthy way. For over a decade, we’ve built blockchain infrastructure that tokenizes, custodies, trades and settles assets for the world’s leading financial institutions, like PayPal, Venmo, Mastercard and Interactive Brokers.  About the role We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a team of talented engineers in building and maintaining integrations with external partners and networks. In this role, you will drive the development and execution of integration strategies, ensuring seamless interoperability between Paxos' platform and external systems. You will collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and external stakeholders to deliver robust and scalable solutions. What you’ll do

Lead, mentor, and manage a team of blockchain engineers to ensure successful project delivery. Oversee the design, development, and deployment of solutions, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product management, operations, and other engineering teams to define project scope, objectives, and timelines. Drive the technical vision and roadmap for the blockchain engineering team, staying abreast of industry trends and advancements. Ensure the scalability, security, and performance of blockchain applications and infrastructure. Establish and enforce best practices in code quality, testing, and documentation. Manage resource allocation, budget planning, and project prioritization to optimize team productivity and project outcomes. Provide technical guidance and support to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth. Participate in the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of new team members to build a strong and cohesive engineering team.

About you

Proven experience (5+ years) in software engineering. At least 3 years of experience in a management role within an engineering team. Familiarity with code deployment and maintenance, cloud platforms and services. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment. Eager to deepen your expertise and make impactful contributions to blockchain protocols, cryptographic principles, consensus algorithms, and decentralized applications (dApps).

How do I become an integration developer?

Becoming an integration developer typically involves a combination of education, training, and practical experience

Here are some steps you can take to become an integration developer:

  1. Obtain a degree in computer science or a related field: A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field can provide you with a solid foundation in programming, software development, and database management.
  2. Learn programming languages: Integration developers typically use programming languages like Java, Python, or C# to create integrations between different systems. It's essential to have a good understanding of these languages to be successful in this field.
  3. Gain experience with integration technologies: Familiarize yourself with integration technologies such as REST, SOAP, and messaging protocols like JMS, MQ, or AMQP.
  4. Develop knowledge of APIs and microservices: APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) and microservices are two critical concepts that integration developers need to understand. APIs allow different applications to communicate with each other, while microservices enable the development of complex applications by breaking them down into smaller, more manageable components.
  5. Learn about enterprise integration patterns: Enterprise Integration Patterns (EIPs) are a set of design patterns used in enterprise application integration. Understanding EIPs can help you develop more efficient and effective integrations.
  6. Get practical experience: Look for internship or entry-level job opportunities that provide hands-on experience with integration technologies. Practice building integrations and working with different systems.
  7. Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies: The integration landscape is constantly evolving, so it's essential to stay current with the latest trends and technologies in the field. Attend industry events, read relevant blogs, and follow thought leaders in the industry to stay informed.
