Product Designer

The IOTA Foundation is a not-for-profit organization established in 2017 and headquartered in Berlin, Germany. The mission of the Foundation is to drive the development of new distributed ledger technologies (DLTs) that would enable innovative and permissionless ecosystems.

Our core technology is known as the Tangle, a new generation of DLT that is specifically designed to be the open and free trust layer for the Internet-of-Things (IoT). In order to realize our potential, the Foundation is actively engaged in engineering, research and community organizing efforts around the Tangle.

Tasks

In this role, you will:

• Have the opportunity to understand the challenges and opportunities that DLT presents with respect to product design
• Utilize your full range of product design, interaction design, and visual design skills to develop aesthetically pleasing solutions for the products and services that we launch
• Develop storyboards and prototypes to communicate interaction and design ideas effectively
• Produce clear design specifications for our web and mobile applications
• Help maintain visual and brand consistency across our products and services
• Communicate product design issues to relevant stakeholders and work with them to determine the best implementation

Requirements

We are looking for someone who:

• Is passionate about turning complex design problems into simple and engaging user experiences
• Have solved complex problems with an elegantly shipped product - evidenced in an online portfolio featuring the end-to-end design process
• Is a specialist in producing exquisite visual designs driven by strategic UI thinking with passionate attention to pixel detail
• Uses data and experimentation to provide product direction while advocating for our users out of a deep sense of empathy for them
• Possess experience working with design systems at scale, across web and mobile platforms
• Experience working with collaborative product design tools such as Figma
• Nice to haves: Experience with blockchain/DLT/crypto and/or visual branding
