About Kaio

Kaio is a multichain fund issuance and distribution protocol dedicated to empowering asset managers to tokenize and manage their funds through a unified, decentralized infrastructure. By enabling seamless distribution across multiple networks, Kaio aims to revolutionize fund issuance and distribution. Our core mission is to drive innovation in decentralized finance (DeFi) with a key focus on increasing assets under management (AUM).

Role Overview

As Product Owner you will be the nexus between Kaio’s strategic vision and day‑to‑day execution. Working closely with the Product Lead, you will define and maintain the product roadmap, manage the backlog and ensure that each release delivers measurable value. You will synthesise user and stakeholder feedback into actionable requirements, guide cross‑functional teams through discovery, delivery and go‑live, and serve as the primary voice of the customer. Success in this role means pairing strong communication and organisational skills with a solid understanding of blockchain applications and protocol development, driving growth and innovation at the intersection of capital markets and decentralised finance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Product Ownership & Roadmap Management

  • Collaborate with the Product Lead to define and prioritise the product roadmap, balancing stakeholder inputs against strategic objectives and AUM growth targets.
  • Maintain and groom the product backlog; translate epics into clear user stories with acceptance criteria; ensure clarity of scope for the engineering team.
  • Lead sprint planning, backlog refinement and release planning sessions, ensuring on‑time delivery of value‑adding features.

2. Business Analysis & Requirements

  • Discover & Define – Engage users and stakeholders to surface needs and translate them into clear user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Research & Validate – Monitor market trends and competitors; use data to validate feature ideas and measure success.
  • Optimise & Align – Map and improve onboarding and tokenisation workflows while embedding regulatory considerations.

3. Delivery Management

  • Own the development pipeline from discovery through to launch; set delivery milestones and coordinate cross‑functional teams to meet them.
  • Track dependencies, manage resource allocation and proactively address risks or impediments to ensure a predictable delivery cadence.
  • Facilitate testing, quality assurance and go‑live readiness; coordinate training and operational hand‑over.

4. Stakeholder Communication

  • Act as the voice of the customer internally and externally; gather feedback from clients and partners to continually refine product direction.
  • Provide clear, timely updates to leadership and stakeholders on progress, decisions and trade‑offs; produce demos and presentations as needed.
  • Collaborate with commercial teams to understand sales pipeline impacts and ensure alignment between product capabilities and market needs.

5. Technical & Domain Expertise

  • Develop a deep understanding of KAIO’s architecture, including smart‑contract design, multi‑chain interoperability and regulatory considerations, and how on‑chain protocols integrate with capital markets to enable compliant tokenisation and trading.
  • Bridge the gap between non‑technical stakeholders and development teams; challenge solutions to ensure technical feasibility and alignment with DeFi best practices.
  • Stay current with blockchain and financial‑services trends, particularly advances in protocol development and DeFi applications, to advise on product innovations and partnerships that transform capital markets

Key Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams and deliver complex products on time and within scope.
  • Strong knowledge of blockchain protocols and smart‑contract development, with a track record of applying these technologies to capital markets, tokenisation and DeFi infrastructure.
  • Experience working with regulatory/compliance teams and understanding of fund structures or asset‑management frameworks.
  • Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder‑management skills; able to turn strategic concepts into executable plans.
  • Proficient with Agile methodologies (Scrum or Kanban), backlog management tools (e.g., Jira), and product analytics.
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced startup environment with shifting priorities and a high degree of autonomy.

Core Competencies

  • Strategic Vision & Execution: Ability to translate high‑level business objectives into actionable product roadmaps and delivery plans that support KAIO’s mission to make investment markets more inclusive.
  • Stakeholder Influence & Collaboration: Skilled at managing and influencing diverse stakeholders—product, engineering, operations, legal, commercial and clients—to align priorities and drive consensus.
  • Analytical & Data‑Driven Mindset: Proactive in identifying problems and opportunities, leveraging data and user insights to propose effective solutions and measure outcomes.
  • Technical Acumen: Solid understanding of blockchain technology, DeFi protocols and tokenisation—including the development of on‑chain applications—and ability to bridge conversations between highly technical developers and non‑technical business leaders.
  • Prioritisation & Focus: Demonstrated ability to balance competing priorities, make tough trade‑off decisions and ensure the team focuses on high‑impact deliverables.
  • Communication & Storytelling: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; adept at crafting clear narratives about product vision, requirements, and progress to audiences ranging from engineers to executives.
  • Adaptability & Learning: Comfortable working in a fast‑paced startup environment with evolving requirements and willing to continuously learn about emerging trends in blockchain and financial services.

Why Join Kaio?

  • Contribute to a high-impact mission at the intersection of blockchain and asset management.
  • Work on cutting-edge infrastructure reshaping global fund distribution.
  • Collaborate with a forward-thinking, innovative team in a dynamic startup environment.
  • Enjoy a flexible, supportive workplace with ample opportunities for personal and professional growth.
