The Arbitrum Foundation is an organisation based in the Cayman Islands that is tasked with developing and nurturing the Arbitrum ecosystem. This includes Arbitrum One, an Optimistic Rollup, that instantly scales apps, reducing costs and increasing capacity, without sacrificing Ethereum's security and Arbitrum Nova, which allows for ultra-low cost fees by leveraging AnyTrust technology making it ideal for Social and Gaming applications.

Arbitrum today is the leading Ethereum scaling solution with dominant market share including hundreds of apps on the platform and over 50% of all rollup liquidity. 

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Business Development Manager with a strong sales focus and extensive enterprise connections in Japan. The ideal candidate will be a native Japanese speaker with a deep understanding of the local market dynamics and business culture. Reporting directly to the Executive team, the Senior Business Development Manager will play a pivotal role in driving growth, establishing strategic partnerships, and expanding our presence in Japan.

Responsibilities

    • Develop and execute comprehensive business development strategies tailored to the Japanese market to achieve revenue targets and market penetration goals.
    • Identify and prioritize key business opportunities, partnerships, and channels for growth, particularly within the enterprise sector.
    • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with potential clients, partners, and industry stakeholders to drive business expansion and collaboration.
    • Lead the entire sales process, from prospecting and lead generation to negotiation and closing deals, ensuring customer satisfaction and retention.
    • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product, and legal, to ensure alignment and successful execution of business development initiatives.
    • Stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory developments in Japan to inform strategic decision-making and market positioning.
    • Represent Arbitrum Foundation at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to enhance brand visibility and thought leadership.

Desired Background

    • Proven track record of success in business development, sales, or account management roles, with a focus on the Japanese market.
    • Extensive network of contacts within the enterprise sector in Japan, with demonstrated ability to leverage these connections for business opportunities.
    • Strong understanding of blockchain technology, cryptocurrencies, and decentralized finance (DeFi) is highly desirable.
    • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence decision-makers at all levels.
    • Strategic thinker with a results-driven mindset and a passion for driving growth and innovation.
    • Fluency in both English and Japanese languages is required.
