As part of that mission, CoinDesk aims to create digestible, explanatory articles that answer the questions people are searching for around bitcoin, cryptocurrency, NFTs, the metaverse and related topics. CoinDesk’s Learn section will demystify crypto for anyone looking to educate themselves about this new asset class and how it’s disrupting global finance. The SEO Content Writer will play a key part towards building a trusted source and library of content that speaks to a discovery audience at the right level.
The SEO Content Writer will collaborate with Manging Editor of learn and our analytics and SEO team to identify the topics with the most potential, develop story ideas, then produce top-quality, search-optimized content, both long and short. They’ll also regularly refresh some articles, ensuring the content is accurate and up to date.
Knowledge of keyword strategies, familiarity with analytics reports, and the ability to quickly write clean, compelling copy with SEO in mind are all essential qualifications. Knowledge of crypto preferred but proven experience in mastering new subjects and strong interest in diving into the complex and exciting world of cryptocurrency considered.
The SEO Content Writer reports to CoinDesk’s Managing Editor, CryptoExplainer+.
Responsibilities:
- Write several evergreen, SEO-focused articles a week about cryptocurrency and related concepts.
- Based on keywords, develop story ideas with the Managing Editor, Learn that provide good service journalism and align with strategic content goals.
- Explore new ways to repackage and deliver educational content to a mainstream audience
- Coordinate with the Analytics team on keywords to prioritize.
- Optimize content on evergreen articles and some other pages to maximize SEO audience through metadata, tags, URL structure, alt text and more.
- Update existing content, such as inserting keywords, links and images, and refining content body and metadata.
- Other duties at the discretion of the Managing Editor, Learn.
About You:
- 2+ years of experience as a writer or editor.
- Thoroughly familiarity with SEO concepts such as keywords, difficulty level, impressions, pagerank, domain authority, alt text, etc.
- Excel skills or a strong will to learn Excel & analytical frameworks
- Experience with content management systems.
- Strong writing and communication skills.
- Knowledge of cryptocurrency and finance topics.
