Whatnot is seeking a highly motivated Director of Strategic FP&A MS (Marketing and Sales Finance) who will serve as a key member of the Finance team. This individual will be a key player in the usage and reporting of financial and operational KPIs to inform leadership in areas of budgeting, reporting, forecasting and alignment between finance and respective business leaders.

Reporting to the Head of Strategic FP&A, the director of Strategic FP&A MS will have exceptional analytical skills, with a proven track record of transforming data into insights. To excel in this role the individual should be very collaborative and capable of influencing business partners to course correct, based on sound analysis and business judgment. This individual will thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. They will know what great looks like and will contribute to the growth and continuous improvement across the Whatnot Finance department.

  • Covering the area of Marketing and Sales Finance.
  • Primary ownership of reporting to respective Whatnot leadership, including financial narrative development, in-depth understanding of drivers, and establishing data packages
  • Manage Whatnot’s financial processes such as month-end reporting and variance analysis, forecasting, budget planning, and annual budgeting
  • Proactively provide insights and propose solutions to areas of risk and opportunity to influence business strategy
  • Participate and contribute in the on-going evolution of Whatnot analytics dialogue between all business units and departments
  • Develop and continue to strengthen business relationships with respective subject matter leadership to enhance cross functional communication and collaboration
  • Streamline the forecast process, increase forecast accuracy, align across various teams and stakeholders and enable meaningful forecast reviews with leadership
  • Responsible for the development of data packages both external and internal requests and cadenced reporting (subject matter expert)
  • Develop and maintain communicated KPIs, including associated research, comparable company analysis, consolidation, data visualization and packaging
  • Build, lead and inspire a talented team responsible for providing insights and financial transparency to the Whatnot organization

For Full-Time (Salary) US-based applicants: $250,000/year to $300,000/year + benefits + equity

The salary range may be inclusive of several levels that would be applicable to the position. Final salary will be based on a number of factors including, level, relevant prior experience, skills and expertise. This range is only inclusive of base salary, not benefits (more details below) or equity.
