The Role
We are excited to announce Mirandus is looking for an experienced Lead VFX Artist. You will assist in building an amazing RPG sent in an epic fantasy world. This is a unique opportunity to be immersed in a phenomenal team working on the gaming evolution, working on new and exciting things all while working with some of the best and most talented devs in the industry. You will be a hands on Lead that will need to, in time, build your team. We are looking for a stellar talent that can lead and be diving into the work.
Responsibilities
- Develop innovative, complex, and visually stunning particle and shader effects within the defined visual >
- Creating assets such as textures, models, and shaders relevant to visual effects art
- Concept, propose and present creative ideas
- Work closely with our artists, animators, designers, and programmers to implement effects
- Provide creative input specific to assigned tasks
- Review and request elements and VFX from outsourcing partners and implement in-engine
- Optimize VFX for multiple platforms, including PC / Console(s) / mobile
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- 5+ years experience as a VFX artist in games or related industries
- Prior experience as a Lead or Senior level within game dev
- Passion for creating stylized real-time VFX assets for characters, props, environments, and user interfaces
- Experience setting up VFX pipelines and standards
- Experience working with the Unity game engine
- Proven ability to create outstanding visuals within performance and content budgets.
- Expert proficiency in Maya animation workflows
- Driven to solve technical challenges across many aspects of game development
- Self-motivated, stellar work ethic, fun collaborator
- Excited by problem-solving
- Fearless
Nice-to-Have Skills and Qualifications
- Comfortable with working remotely on a full-time basis.
- MMO experience a plus
- Understanding of animation principles and timing.
- Experience with Unity
