Head of Funding
Key Responsibilities
- Capital Raising & Structuring:
- Lead and execute equity fundraising rounds (Seed, Series A, B, C), including investor targeting, pitch preparation, due diligence coordination, and closing.
- Structure and execute debt financing transactions, including: Bank loans and credit facilities, Structured debt, Bond or note issuances.
- Design scalable funding structures to support EFY’s growth across jurisdictions.
- Partner with executive leadership to optimize capital structure, liquidity, and balance sheet efficiency.
- Debt, Deposits & Institutional Funding:
- Lead the development and management of institutional funding lines and credit programs.
- Design and oversee deposit-taking and treasury funding programs, aligned with regulatory requirements.
- Optimize funding cost, tenor, and maturity profiles across all funding sources.
- Ensure liquidity availability to support treasury, payments, and investment operations.
- Investor & Financial Counterparty Management:
- Build and maintain senior-level relationships with:
- Venture Capital and Private Equity funds
- Banks and financial institutions
- Family offices and institutional investors
- Act as a key point of contact for current and prospective investors.
- Prepare and deliver regular funding updates and performance reports.
- Financial Planning, Modeling & Analysis:
- Develop and maintain funding forecasts, liquidity projections, and capital adequacy models.
- Conduct scenario analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Evaluate market conditions, investor appetite, and funding alternatives.
- Governance, Compliance & Regulatory Coordination:
- Ensure all funding activities comply with local and international regulations across EFY’s operating jurisdictions.
- Coordinate with Legal, Compliance, Auditors, and Regulators to:
- Structure compliant funding vehicles
- Prepare offering documentation and disclosures
- Support regulatory filings and approvals
- Maintain strong governance standards for all capital-raising activities.
Key Competences
- 7–12+ years of experience in: Capital markets, Investment banking, Treasury / Corporate Finance, Fintech or banking environments.
- Proven track record in raising capital: Equity rounds of USD 10M+
- Debt programs of USD 10–20M+ annually
- Experience working with fintechs, banks, startups, or regulated financial institutions.
- Desirable: exposure to crypto, digital assets, or blockchain-based financial products.
- Strong financial modeling and Excel skills (Bloomberg experience is a plus).
- Ability to operate in multi-jurisdictional, high-growth, regulated environments.
Key Experience
- Proven, Hands-On Capital Raising Experience:
- The candidate must have personally led capital-raising processes — not supported or assisted them.
- Direct ownership of: Equity fundraising (Seed, Series A, B, C)
- Debt financing
- End-to-end responsibility, including: Investor targeting, Pitching and negotiations, Due diligence management, Term sheet structuring, Closing transactions.
- Direct interaction and negotiation with: Venture Capital funds, Private Equity firms, Institutional investors, Investment banks
- Minimum Deal Size & Capital Volumes:
- Equity raised: Minimum USD 10M per round
- Strong preference for USD 25M+ cumulative
- Debt raised: USD 10–20M per year, through:
- Bank loans and credit facilities
- Institutional funding lines
- Structured debt
- Bonds or private notes
- Strong Bank Debt & Institutional Lending Experience
- Capital Structure & Balance Sheet Expertise
