Deputy MLRO, Sweden
Responsibilities:
- Act as Deputy MLRO for Sweden, assuming primary responsibilities during the MLRO's absence, including reporting suspicious activities to the local FIU, liaising with the Regulator, and collaborating with other competent authorities.
- Participate in aligning the branch's AML/CFT policies and procedures with local laws and regulations.
- Stay updated on changes to the country's AML/CFT regulatory framework.
- Assist the Binance Nordics MLRO with daily operations.
- Handle individual cases and automated AML alerts.
- Review and assess onboarding requirements for High-Risk customers, including PEPs and KYB-users.
- Analyze shortcomings in the AML process and collaborate with the country's MLRO to implement solutions.
- Perform Quality control checks such as KYC/KYB for Nordic users, PEPs screening, and regular customer risk rating reviews.
- Escalate suspicious cases, identify deficiencies, and instigate necessary trainings.
- Serve as a key point of escalation for issues, working with the global compliance team to mitigate identified risks.
- Assist in both internal and external audits as well as AML audit processes.
- Participate in the Compliance Technical Unit and the pioneering team tasked with preparing for MICA requirement roll out in Binance Nordics.
- Manage relationships with stakeholders to ensure mutual objectives are met.
- Contribute to knowledge management initiatives within the industry and organization, and promote understanding of evolving regulations.
- Uphold professional relationships while confidently challenging and providing alternate perspectives.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure sanctions requirements and controls are embedded within business operations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Legal, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with AML/CTF related systems, databases, and technical solutions.
- Prior experience working in financial services with a strong knowledge of AML, dealing with regulators, and updated regulations.
- Crypto knowledge is highly regarded.
- Should have thorough business cycle experience, end-to-end.
- Proficient in English and Swedish. Other Nordic languages are an asset.
- Desirable applicants could have a background in the traditional finance(with crypto knowledge/passion) or the gaming industry.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Swedish laws and regulations, particularly relating to derivatives and recent legislations.
- A resilient and hardworking attitude with a "can-do" mindset.
- Ability to take ownership of work and fit into Binance's company culture.
- Applicants from the Nordic region preferred, although not necessarily from Sweden.Â
