At SuperRare, our mission is to create a global art economy fit for the digital age. We are looking for a Corporate Counsel who is excited about digital art and NFTs to join our growing team. Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will be owning and developing initiatives revolving around the DAO, Web3, IP and other crypto/NFT peripheral projects at SuperRare. With strong technical knowledge, you will be a resource and guide for all web3 legal needs.

What you’ll do:

• Develop and build the Legal department from scratch in tandem with the Legal Innovation Counsel
• Scale and manage an appropriate sized team
• Act as General Counsel to a rapidly growing remote startup, serving as an experienced legal generalist advising on all the company’s corporate, contractual, business, regulatory, and general legal needs
• Act as a legal advisor to the company’s executive team and board of directors
• Able to roll up your sleeve and execute quickly on the company’s day-to-day legal needs
• Manage third party legal counsel while exercising extreme budgetary control
• Working in tandem with the company’s Legal Innovation Counsel to establish policies and procedures for a web3 native company and growing decentralized network with a DAO.
• Staying abreast of new laws, existing laws and legal rights that would impact functionality or legality of the business or network
• Advise on and manage the company’s regulatory compliance programs and efforts
• Provide legal insight and structure to the Company’s DAO-related operations

What you have:

• 7-10 years of experience as a practicing attorney or at least a minimum 5 years in-house experience
• High powered energy in an increasingly chaotic market
• Startup/fast paced High Tech environment experience
• A passion for Web3
• In-depth business acumen with experience to match (understanding what it takes for a business to succeed outside of only Legal)
• High emotional intelligence
• Ability to handle stress well
• Extreme transparency of projects/initiatives cross functionally between departments and founders
