We enable investors, operators, and institutions to see past the noise, make better decisions, and drive the industry forward.

Who You Are:

You consider yourself a crypto enthusiast and a podcast connoisseur. You are a technical storyteller who can break down complex blockchain infrastructure concepts into compelling narratives. You intimately know the crypto ecosystem and closely follow crypto news and narratives that impact and interest the community.

You are a natural connector who can engage with technical founders, researchers, and thought leaders and drive interesting, thought provoking conversation. You're not just comfortable behind the mic and the camera, but you consider it your home. You're a host and pride yourself on your ability to think critically about meaningful content. You provide a balanced voice who can maintain neutrality while driving meaningful technical discussions.

What You’ll Do:

As our Podcast Host, you'll develop, host, and help produce a Blockworks tentpole crypto-focused podcast. You'll be the face, voice, and thought leader of the brand, helping to grow the audience and impact of the show.

Every day will look a little different, but in general, you will do things like:

  • Host the Podcast: You'll be directly responsible for planning, scripting, hosting, and recording two episodes of the show per week.

  • Develop Podcast Content: You'll work to design and develop the content and themes for the overall series format and each episode, using the latest news and events in the crypto and macro industries to help inform topics.

  • Identify, Source, and Secure Guests: You'll proactively work to identify podcast guests who have untapped potential for creating exceptional stories relevant to our in-house shows.

  • Contribute to Newsletters: You'll partner with our editorial team to write contributions to the newsletter.

  • Drive Social Engagement: You'll regularly leverage personal and professional social channels to help grow the Expansion audience through exceptional content and authentic marketing.

  • Partner with Sales: You'll partner and collaborate with our sales team to help build new areas of sponsorship and strengthen the deep relationship with current sponsors.

  • Learn, Embrace, and Grow the Blockworks Audience: In conjunction with the rest of the production team, you'll work to understand the core audience segments and proactively uncover insights that will stimulate engagement and content evolution.

  • Build the Brand IRL: In partnership with other Blockworks team members, you'll help grow the brand by representing the show at in-person events, including listener meet-ups, Hackathons, Blockworks Conferences, and more.

Experimentation is frequent at Blockworks. Comfortability with being uncomfortable is a must.

What You’ve Done Before:

First and foremost, you're a crypto native with a deep understanding of blockchain architecture, and related ecosystems/networks.

  • You've demonstrated success hosting or producing crypto content for podcasts, webinars, blogs, or other reporting, and you're excited to share your best work examples.

  • Experience interviewing technical experts and driving substantive discussions.

  • You have an uncanny ability to discern compelling stories and are always on the look to find the engaging needle in the haystack of noise.

  • Lastly, you've been historically successful at growing an audience and following and are excited to do it again.

It’d Be Great If You’ve Done This:

An exceptionally deep understanding of the blockchain scaling landscape paired with a creative and compelling approach to discussions will move you to the top of the list.

  • Published technical analysis or research in the blockchain space.

  • Experience with live broadcasting or real-time technical discussions.

  • Built relationships within the blockchain infrastructure community.

  • Demonstrated thought leadership in blockchain scaling solutions.

  • Prior experience in technical podcast hosting or production.

Having a background in media, especially on camera, may also set you apart from other candidates, but it isn't required. Lastly, we're looking for candidates with an outstanding ability to interview guests and honed instincts of when and how to dig deeper while making guests feel comfortable.
