About the role:
As Trading.TV’s first full-time researcher, you will have the opportunity to join a well-funded startup on the ground floor and play a key role in our company’s success. You will collaborate closely with our Head of Product and executive leadership team to help set strategy and process for how the company gathers and presents data related to a broad range of asset classes, starting with Equities (including ETFs and Mutual Funds), Crypto Assets, and Startups / Private Businesses in the Venture space. You will be a player-coach, rolling up your sleeves and getting your hands dirty with research early on, and quickly hiring a team beneath you as our strategy gains traction.

This is a unique role that blends research and creative strategy, you will:
- Devise and perform your own primary research methods, keeping abreast of trends and sentiment in the market.
- Analyze your research data to identify emerging trends / opportunities and risks, justifying your reasoning, and be prepared to present your findings on camera or microphone.
- Maintain constant coverage of industry-related news, trends, and developments. Disseminate your insight when appropriate to internal and external stakeholders.
- Design and manage our process for crafting research reports with yours (and future teammates) findings, to be published to the community and media.
- Maintain a public image for the firm at conferences/events. Communicate the company’s research, building its brand and referring potential new clients.
Skills and experience our team needs:
- 4+ years of equities or crypto research experience, ideally within an institutional firm or investment bank.
- Hedge Fund or Venture Capital Experience highly desirable.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, financial engineering, statistics, or related field.
- Exceptional understanding of equity and crypto markets on a global level, and startups within the United States.
- Strong modeling, analytical and quantitative skills are a must.
- Advanced Excel proficiency. 3+ years of practical experience of using Excel for building and maintaining financial models.
- Platform experience within Bloomberg or similar market data platform.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency for presenting and debating a point under pressure.
- CFA, Series 7 and 86/87 licenses are a plus.
