Location

We have offices in Madrid (Gran VĂa), and we are also open to a full remote setting from Spain.

Type of Employment

Full-time, indefinite contract.

The Role

Crossmint is expanding its licensed operations globally, and we’re looking for a Regulatory Counsel to support our regulatory strategy and execution across key jurisdictions.
You’ll work closely with the General Counsel, compliance and business teams to navigate complex crypto and financial regulatory landscapes, secure licenses, and ensure that Crossmint’s products and communications remain compliant worldwide.
This is a hands-on, high-impact, high intensity role for someone who thrives on variety, balancing strategic planning with day-to-day execution, interfacing with regulators, and translating legal requirements into practical product solutions.

What You’ll Do

As Regulatory Counsel, you will:
Lead Global Licensing Efforts: Drive applications for crypto and payments licenses in major jurisdictions including the FCA (UK), MiCA (EU), and U.S. state money transmission frameworks, among others.
Manage Regulator Engagements: Prepare and submit business plans, respond to RFIs, and liaise directly with regulators to ensure successful licensing and ongoing compliance.
Support Product Development: Partner with product, engineering, and operations teams to design and launch products that meet the regulatory requirements of each market.
Monitor and Interpret New Regulations: Track developments in global crypto, payments, and fintech laws, distilling actionable insights and recommendations for the business.
Educate Internal Teams: Develop and deliver training sessions to ensure commercial, marketing, and product teams understand how to sell and communicate regulated services compliantly.
Marketing & Communications Oversight: Review marketing materials and monitor social media for compliance with advertising and promotion rules applicable to regulated financial products.
Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work with external counsel, consultants, and internal stakeholders to ensure coordinated and effective licensing execution.

What We’re Looking For

You are a pragmatic, globally-minded regulatory professional who understands how to operationalize compliance in fast-moving fintech or crypto environments.
You have:
7+ years of legal, compliance, or regulatory experience within fintech, crypto, or financial services.
Hands-on experience obtaining or maintaining payment licenses: money transmission licenses (U.S.), international payment licenses (PSD2, EMI, PI) and other CASP/VASP frameworks. You need to understand where crypto regulation is moving to.
Proven ability to manage regulator interactions, respond to RFIs, and lead licensing applications from start to finish.
Experience advising on marketing and communications for regulated services.
Exceptional organizational and writing skills, with a keen eye for operational detail.
A collaborative approach and the ability to thrive in a distributed, fast-paced environment.
Experience managing external counsel and coordinating cross-border legal projects.
As bonus skills, we’ll be especially excited if you have:
Worked at or advised a crypto exchange, custody provider, or payments platform.
Experience in a tier 1 regulatory law firm.
Experience launching new regulated products or jurisdictions from scratch.
Exposure to U.S. state-level licensing, including coordination with the NMLS.

Why Join Crossmint?

This is a rare opportunity to build the global regulatory foundation for one of the most innovative infrastructure companies in web3 & Fintech. You’ll help shape how blockchain technology interfaces with the world’s financial systems, and play a key role in bringing compliant onchain services to millions of users.
If you’re a regulatory operator who thrives in fast-moving environments and loves turning legal complexity into scalable systems, we’d love to hear from you.
