Job Description
Reporting to the Boxwind CEO and Group Financial Controller, this role oversees the Finance and Accounting function for Boxwing BH and the Symbro Group entities, including financial reporting for consolidation and ensuring robust financial controls. This role additionally focuses on ensuring timely closes, in accordance with relevant IFRS policies, preparation and presentation and preparation of relevant entity statutory reporting. The individual in this role must have strong technical accounting knowledge and a proven record of process improvement.
Manage all financial books and records and trial balances for the respective entities, ensuring they are maintained in an accurate and timely basis, assuring their integrity.
Own and complete the monthly closing processes (including booking of all entries), in collaboration with global finance team and others within the business to ensure the accurate and timely consolidation and production of financial statements.
Ensure accurate processing of accounts payable and payments.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory reporting, by required deadlines as per regulator.
Ownership of all Tax reporting locally, in collaboration with Group FC and Tax Manager.
Be responsible for annual budget preparation (working with Group Finance Team) as well as monitoring on a monthly/QTRLY basis.
Ensure monthly crypto reconciliations are performed and reviewed for month end accounting.
Work closely with Treasury, settlements and reconciliations team to ensure compliance with financial control and regulatory requirements, ensuring that required reporting is submitted on time and accurate.
Manage the external reporting process, ensuring the country specific statutory financial statements, including supporting notes, are prepared in accordance with the relevant IFRS requirements.
Ensure compliance with the group’s accounting policies and support the implementation of new policies as appropriate.
Management of the external audit relationship, coordination of the audit schedule and discussions with senior audit management on interpretation of complex accounting issues.
Manage Proof of Reserves audits as required in line with CBB regulation requirements.
Management of Boxwind BH and ensuring regulatory requirements and internal controls over financial reporting.
Implement and carry out control’s reviews in partnership with Internal Audit. Maintain records of procedures and policies, making improvements to existing processes.
Be an agent for change, efficiency, and improvement.
Qualifications
Essential:
Qualified accountant with strong technical accounting skills, including experience of multicurrency consolidation and excellent knowledge of controls.
Previous experience working and communicating with regulators.
Act with a sense of urgency.
Remote management experience.
Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate across finance and with the business.
Handling conflicting demands with clear prioritization and communication.
Strong analytical and organizational skills.
Strong ability to prioritize and manage time for self and team.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Proven record of change management
Excellent knowledge of IFRS, including ability to research accounting literature, establishes a position and develops procedures for implementation.
Desirable:
Working experience within a Brokerage environment.
Experience of working in Cryptocurrency space for an Exchange.
Experience of using an ERP such as SAP S4/HANA.
Arabic language is a plus.
