Job Description

Team Summary

The Japan Products team is responsible for designing, developing and delivering Visa’s market-level product strategy. The team manages key initiatives related to Visa’s suite of Consumer, Digital and Network solutions, driving the growth and effectiveness of Visa’s product suite for the Japan market.

 

What a Senior Manager – Digital Deployment, Product Management does at Visa

The Senior Manager, Digital Deployment, will orchestrate and execute key market programs supporting Visa's 2030 global product strategy and market deliverables related to Visa’s Digital and Network solutions. The role holder’s responsibilities include:

  • Developing and executing comprehensive go-to-market strategies for Visa’s digital products and solutions, primarily within the eCommerce and Mobile domains and spanning both card and non-card payments. Responsibilities include any combination of the following: leading the introduction of new products and solutions into the Japan market, implementing foundational ecosystem enhancement initiatives, and managing the expansion and optimization of existing product offerings. Examples of key initiatives include scaling the Visa Click-to-Pay eCommerce initiative for Japan, expanding card-not-present tokenization across Visa’s ecosystem partners, and introducing Visa’s suite of emerging products (e.g., non-card payments, crypto and stablecoin propositions) to the market.
  • Leading cross-functional collaboration and program governance across market, regional and global teams to drive streamlined and efficient execution of product go-to-market and deployment strategies. In consultation with the Digital Deployment Team Lead, the role holder will be expected to demonstrate a strong bias to action and a keen desire to create execution momentum across teams. This includes driving clear communications around initiative-level goals and strategies, proactive progress tracking and influencing key stakeholders on a day-to-day basis, and leading initiative-level reporting and data analysis. Additionally, as needed the role holder will assist the Digital Deployment Team Lead in developing and delivering senior stakeholder presentations related to initiatives under management within the portfolio.
  • Driving ongoing product management and influencing the global and/or regional roadmap of Visa’s suite of digital and network products, driving Visa’s innovation and product development agenda. Alongside strong mastery of the existing products and solutions under management, ensure that market-level nuances, front-line client feedback and execution insights are consistently reflected to relevant product owners, ultimately resulting in a refined market-level product roadmap and excellent product-market fit.

Qualifications

What you will need:

  • Fluent in Japanese and English in professional settings.
  • 10 years of experience in product strategy, go-to-market and delivery experience in payments, financial services or fintech, especially in leading large-scale cross-functional programs.
  • Deep understanding of digital and network products such as Network Tokens and Mobile Payments, coupled with strong knowledge of Japan’s domestic payments landscape and key drivers, opportunities and headwinds.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing strategic initiatives through demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent project management skills and the ability to influence without authority in a large and often multi-geography, matrixed and cross-functional team environment.
  • Experience in consultative selling and collaborating with client relationship managers to help clients understand the benefits of key products and solutions, including high comfort levels in participating in product-level operational and technical discussions as required.
  • Curiosity and the ability to learn quickly about Visa’s constantly evolving suite of products and services, translating knowledge into strategy and execution swiftly.
  • Strong initiative, self-motivation, and high execution standards coupled with interpersonal skills to drive cross-functional collaboration.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high degree of comfort in communicating to large audiences.



What will also help:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Information Systems or related disciplines, or commensurate work experience. An MBA/MS is a plus.
