Role: Communications Associate

Job Location: Remote

Overview: Join Busha Kenya as a Communications Associate, where your knack for creativity, passion for digital transformation and a proven track record in social media management and innovation will help propel our company to new heights. As the Communications Associate at Busha, you’ll spearhead initiatives to enhance Busha’s online and offline presence and brand perception through creative and innovative digital and offline strategies, focusing on brand building and engagement. You must deeply understand social media trends, best practices, analytics and content writing, ensuring that our brand presence is engaging, consistent, and driving measurable results.

Responsibilities:

1. Social Media Strategy and Planning

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy to increase brand awareness, engagement, and conversions.
  • Set specific objectives, KPIs, and metrics to track performance and growth across all social platforms.
  • Research audience preferences and trends to optimise content and strategy for maximum engagement.
  • Plan and manage social media calendar aligned with marketing campaigns, launches, and events.

2. Content Creation and Curation

  • Work with the larger team to create, curate, and manage high-quality, engaging content tailored to each comms channel. (Social Media, Push Notifications, Email, Community).
  • Work with internal creative teams, graphic designers, and videographers to ensure all content aligns with the brand voice, visual identity, and Kenyan marketing goals.
  • Develop and maintain a content schedule for posting across platforms, ensuring consistency and quality.

3. Community Management

  • Engage with followers and respond to comments, messages, and mentions promptly and professionally.
  • Build relationships with key influencers, brand advocates, and followers to increase brand loyalty and advocacy.
  • Monitor and manage brand reputation through social listening to track sentiment and address any potential issues or crises.

4. Paid Social Media Campaigns

  • Work with the Growth Marketing Manager to plan, execute, and optimise paid social media campaigns to drive brand awareness, lead generation, and conversions.
  • Collaborate with the paid media team to create targeted ad campaigns, including audience segmentation, ad creatives, and budgeting.
  • Track and report on the performance of paid campaigns, adjusting strategies to maximise ROI.

5. Analytics and Reporting

  • Monitor, analyse, and report on key metrics (engagement, reach, impressions, conversions, etc.) for organic and paid social media efforts.
  • Use insights from social media analytics tools to refine strategies and content to improve performance.
  • Conduct competitor and market analysis to identify opportunities for growth and differentiation.

6. Collaboration and Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Work closely with the brand marketing and PR team to suggest relevant partnerships and sponsorships to ensure brand growth.
  • Collaborate with other departments such as Product, Support and Data, to share relevant insights and leverage data for user initiatives.

Candidate Must Have;

  • 3-5 years of proven experience in social media management or content marketing.
  • Strong understanding of all major social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube) and their best practices.
  • Experience with social media management tools (Hootsuite, Buffer, Sprout Social, etc.) and analytics tools (Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, etc.).
  • Knowledge of paid social media advertising and optimisation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and creativity.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and campaigns simultaneously.
  • Ability to interpret data and analytics to inform content and strategy decisions.
