About the Role

Figure is looking for a Director of Data Analytics to build and lead our world class data team to drive rapid growth across all of Figure’s products and services. We are looking for a leader, a driver and an innovator, ready to jump in and work hands on while continuing to build our growing data team in a fast-paced start-up environment.

This role will lead the charge to leverage our rich data to understand and optimize the most important aspects of Figure’s operations and guide our strategic investments. This includes partnering with Figure’s executives and business stakeholders to identify key opportunities within Figure and translate them into actionable, meaningful insights that will continue to grow and scale our rapidly growing business.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on data geek with a proven record of building and leading highly effective data teams. This experience should be accompanied by a passion for innovating new solutions, as well as a deep expertise in conveying a compelling story through data visualization, experimentation, and data modeling.

What You’ll Get To Do

• Make data insights a common currency that drives and guides Figure’s strategies and tactical operations – all informed via sophisticated analyses and data solutions that are simple to use and are easily consumable by non-data scientists.
• Lead, mentor, and grow our world class data analytics team. We’re all extremely technical and hands on with data - you should be too!
• Leverage vast amounts of data to build compelling analyses, reporting, and insights that increase and optimize customer experiences, customer acquisition, underwriting and other business outcomes.
• Design and execute experiments and A|B testing geared towards the optimization of critical business processes and outcomes.
• Work and communicate with Figure’s executive team as well as stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging data and machine learning to drive business decisions.

What We Look For

• 12+ years of hands on Data Analytics experience partnering with stakeholders building compelling insights to drive business decisions
• 5+ years experience building and leading Data teams
• Expertise and thought leadership in advanced analytic techniques as well as deploying them with the aim of optimizing a business outcome.
• Credit and Risk experience in consumer finance a plus
• Strong problem solving skills with an emphasis on translating real-life problems into concrete data, experimentation, and modeling strategies. Blend academic rigor with a sense of pragmatism for rapidly prototyping and delivering solutions.
• Experienced in using Tableau, SQL, Python for analysis and modeling
• Experience applying a wide range of statistical techniques to large data sets, and understanding their real-world advantages/drawbacks.
• Experience using web services (AWS, GCP), and distributed data/computing tools (Spark, Map/Reduce, Ray, Hadoop, Hive, etc.)
• Excellent cross-functional communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
