On the Data team, weâre developing new infrastructure for decentralized data pipelines & applications. Youâll be working on a new architecture for achieving large scale consensus on JVM executors. Youâll design partitioning strategies and make use of approximate algebraic data structures for network organization optimizations. Our team is working on a new protocol for distributed big data processing with a focus on scaling consensus engines that demands high precision and proper distributed design. The applications weâre building infrastructure for implement complex logic drawn from traditional data pipelines run in a decentralized setting. Scalability must be balanced against security as these applications have real money at stake. As part of our team, you will be working closely with the protocol team to design APIs for application developers, solve complex partitioning design problems, and integrate external platforms. You will develop example applications and influence the design of the core protocol through extensions to basic applications. Youâll work closely with the protocol team in deploying and testing your applications and integrations on our scalable infrastructure. If the idea of developing the latest generation of distributed systems techniques from literature and pushing the boundaries of existing models forward excites you, keep reading.
This is a fully remote role with a preference for candidates working in North American timezones.
What does a data scientist in web3 do?
A data scientist in web3 is a type of data scientist who focuses on working with data related to the development of web-based technologies and applications that are part of the larger web3 ecosystem
This can include working with data from decentralized applications (DApps), blockchain networks, and other types of distributed and decentralized systems
In general, a data scientist in web3 is responsible for using data analysis and machine learning techniques to help organizations and individuals understand, interpret, and make decisions based on the data generated by these systems
Some specific tasks that a data scientist in web3 might be involved in include developing predictive models, conducting research, and creating data visualizations.
