Who are we?

We believe Ethereum has the potential to solve some of humanity’s most crucial coordination issues. Since our initial inception as a research group, we have sought to scale both its technology and values.

At present, the most pressing bottleneck to the growth of Ethereum is its performance and scalability. We are building the most elegant solution to this problem. We do this in the open (under an MIT open source license) because we believe in open source innovation and its ability to accelerate growth.

OP Labs contributes to the Optimism protocol, an extension to Ethereum that scales both its technology and values. Optimism enables orders of magnitude of improved performance and scalability to Ethereum while doubling down on its commitment to public goods.

The Optimism Collective leads the blockchain protocol landscape, dedicated to fostering a scalable and sustainable ecosystem. Optimism’s ethos, in sync with Ethereum's vision, tackles pivotal coordination challenges of the digital age. Optimism’s goal is to harmonize private incentives with public good, shaping a resilient future for the Internet. Optimism’s scope spans diverse areas like Gaming, DeFi, NFTs, and Enterprise.

We’re looking for an experienced operational leader to partner closely with our CEO. In this role, you will drive strategic projects, streamline operations, and elevate organizational efficiency. You will play a critical role in prioritizing initiatives, cleaning up operational debt, and creating systems that enable scalable growth. This role is highly collaborative, engaging with stakeholders and leveraging tools to make asynchronous work effective. The focus is on influence, execution, and impact—not hierarchy.

What are the role responsibilities?

• Lead strategic initiatives from inception to execution, ensuring alignment with company OKRs and values

• Develop and manage content for all-hands meetings, communicating priorities and updates effectively.

• Identify, prioritize, and execute on operational improvement opportunities, eliminating inefficiencies and bottlenecks.

• Partner and coordinate with cross-functional teams and external organizations to track progress on key projects, providing clarity and accountability.

• Design and implement frameworks and tools to reduce operational debt and increase team productivity.

• Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO, synthesizing information to enable swift decision-making.

What skills do you bring?

• A strategic mindset combined with a willingness to dig into the details and execute effectively.

• Proficiency with modern productivity tools (e.g., Notion, AI-based tools) to drive asynchronous collaboration.

• A track record of managing cross-functional projects with matrixed stakeholders.

• Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, with a talent for simplifying complexity.

• Strong communication and storytelling abilities to influence without authority.

• 10+ years of experience in operational roles or managing strategic projects in a fast-paced environment.
