Wormhole Foundation
Our mission is to empower passionate people in the research and development of blockchain interoperability technologies. We support teams building secure, open-source, and decentralized products within the Wormhole ecosystem.
Developer Experience Engineer
As a Developer Experience Engineer at the Wormhole Foundation, you will own and elevate the developer documentation and onboarding experience for Wormhole Integrators. This is a key role on our Integrations team, where you'll directly impact how developers engage with our platform and build on top of it. In this role you will take ownership of our developer documentation, create tutorials, demos, and tooling to support developers end-to-end, and provide hands-on guidance to integrators building with Wormhole.
What You’ll Do:
- Fully own and manage Wormhole documentation
- Define and maintain content standards, structure, and workflows for all documentation
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to keep docs accurate and up-to-date
- Analyze developer pain points, usage data, and improve the onboarding experience accordingly
- Build tutorials, demos, and tooling to improve the integration experience
- Support external teams and Wormhole integrators with technical resources
- Lead feedback loops with internal and external developers and integrators to continuously improve the experience
- Other special projects as assigned
Who You Are:
- You have a strong background in developer relations, technical writing, solutions engineering, and/or developer tooling
- Highly technical, ideally with a strong understanding of multichain protocols and DeFi
- Domain expertise in one or multiple blockchain platforms (e.g. EVM, SVM, etc.)
- A strong communicator and collaborator; experienced in working across product, engineering, business development, marketing, and leadership teams.
- You’re comfortable owning documentation end to end — both content and process
- You understand how developers think and where they get stuck
- You’ve worked closely with engineering teams and can translate complex concepts clearly
- Comfortable running internal discovery efforts and aligning technical direction with business goals.
- Deep understanding of developer workflows from onboarding to debugging.
- Passion for supporting developers, both internally and externally.
- Highly motivated, creative, and results-driven self-starter with a passion for crypto and developer engagement.
- Excited to work in a results-driven, meritocratic work environment.
- Enjoy working with a remote-first team, but are available for your core working hours to be between 10:00am to 6:00pm ET
Even if you don’t meet every qualification listed, we still encourage you to apply if you believe you’re a strong fit for the role!
How do I get a job at DeFi?
Getting a job in the DeFi (decentralized finance) industry can be a competitive process, but there are a few steps you can take to increase your chances of finding a job in this field:
- Build up your skills and knowledge: To work in DeFi, you'll likely need to have a strong understanding of blockchain technology, as well as other related technologies such as smart contracts and cryptocurrency. Consider taking online courses or earning a degree in a relevant field to build up your skills and knowledge.
- Network with industry professionals: Attend meetups and conferences related to DeFi and make connections with professionals in the industry. Networking can be a valuable way to learn about job openings and get your foot in the door at a DeFi company.
- Create a strong online presence: Many DeFi companies will look at your online presence (such as your LinkedIn profile and personal website) when considering you for a job. Make sure to showcase your skills and accomplishments online and keep your profile up to date.
- Apply for relevant job openings: Keep an eye out for job openings at DeFi companies and apply for positions that align with your skills and experience. Apply for DeFi Jobs without Experience. Tailor your resume and cover letter to the specific job you're applying for and highlight any relevant experience or skills you have.
- Consider internships or volunteer work: DeFi Internships or volunteer work can be a great way to get your foot in the door and gain valuable experience in the DeFi industry. Many companies also offer internships to students, so consider applying for an internship if you're still in school.
- Be persistent: keep trying if you don't get a job right away. It can take time to find the right opportunity, but with the right skills and determination, you can land a job in the DeFi industry.
