What do we do?
Chainflip is an efficient swapping protocol that enables users to swap native assets across different blockchains with excellent pricing. We aim to be the largest on-chain market for BTC, ETH, SOL and other major cross-chain routes and have processed over $400M in trades during our first months of launch.
We're not yet another bridge. Our protocol design removes the need for wrapped tokens. We use MPC (Multi-Party-Computation), particularly TSS (Threshold Signature Schemes), to create aggregate keys held by a permissionless network of 150 Validators. These validators control simple smart contracts/wallets called Vaults, on multiple blockchains simultaneously. On top of that, we developed our own substrate-based application-specific blockchain — the Chainflip State Chain — to track balances, process events, and execute instructions.
We’ve been working on this exciting challenge for 4 years now with our growing team of 30. While our heart beats in Berlin, we champion flexible work rhythms, encouraging both in-office collaboration and the freedom of remote stints.
What’s the Job?
This role is for a Product Designer who wants to transition to or already has experience with Decentralised Finance (DeFi). As a Product Designer within the Product team, you will work closely with stakeholders, partners, developers and other designers.
Your job is to deeply understand our users, by defining, experimenting and iterating with ways to solve these problems. You will help users make sense of the complexity of using blockchains while coming up with innovative solutions.
The Product team is a cross-functional team composed of six Engineers, a Product Designer and a Product Lead. The nature of this team means communication and collaboration are taken very seriously.
What you will do:
- Lead projects from discovery to launch, balancing attention to detail with low-fidelity sketches as needed
- Align input from business goals, technical requirements, and data to design concepts that can be tested with users and partners
- Create user flows, user journeys, interactive prototypes, and MVPs for testing that help validate potential concepts with users
- Design across web and mobile while reviewing & testing the resulting experience meets expectations
- Collaborate with cross-functional peers to drive product strategy and design a holistic experience for our users and partners
And much more! No matter which product you work on, you will be exposed to the fascinating trade-offs and opportunities that come with designing for the DeFi space.

- Then, a Portfolio Review & Whiteboard Session where you’ll present a design project of your choosing in a portfolio review. This is an opportunity to showcase your design process, problem-solving skills, and impact. Following the review, we’ll engage in a collaborative whiteboard session where you’ll work through a design challenge in real-time.
