Flow Foundation has developed a scalable and sustainable layer-1 blockchain that enables developers to build without constraints. This includes a novel multi-node modular architecture as well as a new smart contract language called Cadence.

We are seeking a Technical Writer who can articulate complex information into clear, concise documentation and engaging content. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in dynamic environments and is passionate about technology, eager to educate and empower developers and partners by delivering high-quality informational resources.

What You'll Do:

    • Develop Comprehensive Documentation: Craft detailed, accurate technical documentation ensuring it serves both technical and non-technical users. This includes user guides, API documentation, installation/configuration instructions, and troubleshooting guides.
    • Write Engaging Educational Content: Produce long-form blog posts and educational articles that delve into technical details and use cases of the Flow Blockchain, helping developers understand and effectively use the platform.
    • Collaborate with Technical Teams: Partner with engineering, product management, and marketing teams to gather essential information for both technical documentation and creative content.
    • Maintain Content Quality and Relevance: Regularly update and manage all forms of content to ensure they remain accurate, relevant, and engaging, overseeing their lifecycle from creation to publication.
    • Enhance User Experience: Use feedback from users and internal teams to refine both documentation and content, improving clarity, engagement, and accessibility.
    • Support Educational and Marketing Initiatives: Assist in the development of educational materials and marketing efforts that help promote the adoption and effective use of the Flow Blockchain, including producing tutorials, how-to videos, and promotional materials.

Basic Qualifications:

    • Proven experience as a Technical Writer, with a strong portfolio of both technical documentation and creative content.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of producing clear, engaging, and informative content.
    • Solid understanding of complex systems and technology, with the ability to document and explain these effectively using tools like Docusaurus, Markdown, and Webflow.
    • Proficiency in technical writing and content creation tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, English, Journalism, Computer Science, or related field.
    • Experience in blockchain technology or a closely related field, with a deep understanding of its applications and challenges.
    • Demonstrated ability to produce a variety of content types for different platforms and audiences, including technical professionals and the broader tech community.
    • Knowledge of SEO best practices and experience in crafting content optimized for digital marketing and social media engagement.
About Flow.com:

Flow is a remote-first team of seasoned technologists dedicated to our mission of mainstream Web3 adoption. Founded in Vancouver, Canada, Flow’s team is now spread primarily across the US and Canada – with small presences in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. Less than 6 months from now, Flow delivers Crescendo, its biggest technical upgrade since launching the network. Included in the Crescendo release is Cadence 1.0, a major upgrade of the Cadence programming language which enables fully immutable smart contracts on Flow; as well as full EVM equivalence, allowing Flow to host EVM-based smart contracts, platforms, tooling, and utilities natively and fully composable with the Cadence environments. With Crescendo, Flow will be as easy to deploy onto as any EVM-based Layer 2, while preserving the full capabilities of the rest of the protocol. Crescendo upgrade will catalyze a massive improvement in liquidity on Flow including on- and off-ramps as well as a native DeFi ecosystem that serves as a liquidity backbone for the entire network.

How do I get a job at DeFi?

Getting a job in the DeFi (decentralized finance) industry can be a competitive process, but there are a few steps you can take to increase your chances of finding a job in this field:

  1. Build up your skills and knowledge: To work in DeFi, you'll likely need to have a strong understanding of blockchain technology, as well as other related technologies such as smart contracts and cryptocurrency. Consider taking online courses or earning a degree in a relevant field to build up your skills and knowledge.
  2. Network with industry professionals: Attend meetups and conferences related to DeFi and make connections with professionals in the industry. Networking can be a valuable way to learn about job openings and get your foot in the door at a DeFi company.
  3. Create a strong online presence: Many DeFi companies will look at your online presence (such as your LinkedIn profile and personal website) when considering you for a job. Make sure to showcase your skills and accomplishments online and keep your profile up to date.
  4. Apply for relevant job openings: Keep an eye out for job openings at DeFi companies and apply for positions that align with your skills and experience. Apply for DeFi Jobs without Experience. Tailor your resume and cover letter to the specific job you're applying for and highlight any relevant experience or skills you have.
  5. Consider internships or volunteer work: DeFi Internships or volunteer work can be a great way to get your foot in the door and gain valuable experience in the DeFi industry. Many companies also offer internships to students, so consider applying for an internship if you're still in school.
  6. Be persistent: keep trying if you don't get a job right away. It can take time to find the right opportunity, but with the right skills and determination, you can land a job in the DeFi industry.
