The Role


As we continue down the path of growth, we continue to enhance the depth of our tech teams. We are happy to announce we are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to provide best-in-class Engineering capability to our Full-Stack Engineering team. You will be expected to research, develop and implement structural solutions across our suite of entertainment products.

This is an exciting new addition, where you will have the opportunity to work with both established and ‘build from scratch’ projects. The successful candidate will have in-depth knowledge of processes and technology in software development teams and experience in technologies such as NestJS, Golang, MongoDB, Graph QL, Kubernetes and Docker.

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you’ll be part of a cross-functional team that’s responsible for the full development life cycle, from conception to deployment, across our suite of entertainment verticals. As a Back-end Engineer, you should be the go-to within the team around back-end coding languages, and development frameworks - you will be on point to produce scalable structural solutions, allowing us to deploy best-in-class products to our customers.

Responsibilities


  • Collaborate with product managers and others to ideate software solutions
  • Translate these business/customer requirements into technical solutions
  • Resolve complex technical issues and drive innovations that improve system availability, resilience and performance.
  • Design, code, test, debug and document applications using a mix of agile and waterfall development practices
  • Working hand-in-hand with front-end developers to ensure successful deployment or solutions
  • Testing software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency

Essential Skills and Qualifications


  • Proven experience as a Senior Backend Engineer or similar role
  • Working knowledge of NestJS framework, languages such as Golang and GraphQL, and technologies such as Kubernetes/Docker.
  • Degree level qualification in Computer Science, Mathematics or other relatable pursuit
  • Natural problem-solver with a keen eye for detail
  • An ability to prioritise and work on concurrent multiple projects at any one time.

Nice-to-have Skills and Qualifications


  • Love of games/entertainment
  • Comfort with working remotely on a full-time basis
