The Role:

SuperRare labs is delighted to broaden our search for fresh, diverse and skilled talent to participate in our Curatorial Internship offering. We are looking for a Curatorial Intern. We value creativity, hustle & grit, combined with low ego and the practice of servant leadership. The role will report to the Curation Advisor.

This internship will run from June 12, 2023, through September 8, 2023, with a possible extension. This is a part-time (up to 25 hours per week) paid opportunity for students who have recently graduated (within 2 years of either undergrad or a graduate program) or are currently enrolled in an undergrad program.

What you will do:

As a SuperRare intern, you will not replace or be a substitute for any SuperRare employee and you will not be responsible for any of SuperRare employee's job duties or responsibilities. However, we may ask you to perform/assist with tasks from time to time, such as

  • Assisting in production of exhibitions and our SuperRare curated artwork releases program
  • Performing a wide range of day-to-day tasks, including taking calls with artists, taking detailed notes on calls, sending emails, and running errands for the gallery, etc.
  • Welcoming and answering questions for visitors at our Pop-Up gallery
  • Working the pop- up gallery events
  • Keeping detailed and accurate records of visitor requests
  • Assisting with Newsletter and copy for social media posts
  • Assisting and support with project management for the curatorial team
  • Managing sensitive information with a high level of discretion and good judgment
  • Working on artist's relationship building
  • A final project- The intern will have the opportunity to curate their own digital exhibition to be published on SuperRare. This project will include a feature page of 10 artists hand-picked and curated by the intern upon the final weeks of the internship. This intern will research a topic of interest throughout the program in accordance with the artists which they wish to exhibit. This project is aimed to grant interns first-hand experience to curate a show in the digital space as well as tackle a project that emulates the day-to-day role of a curator within the digital art space. In addition to their final project, the intern will have the opportunity to co- host a twitter space with their manager in accordance with their digital exhibition as twitter is an important tool for community and marketing within the digital space today.

We are looking for a hard-working, energetic, and intellectually curious self-starter who can thrive in a high-pressure and fast-paced work environment. We look for individuals who can truly embrace the start- up experience and are not afraid to take every opportunity that is presented to them as a learning opportunity. The candidate is eager to ask questions when needed and keen to learn about various departments of the company as well as the digital art space at large.

  • Schedule dependent on gallery needs: expectation for combined in-person/onsite support and virtual training

  • Compensation: $15 - $30/hour
  • You will not be entitled to a paid position with SuperRare upon completion of the internship
