Position Summary

Altonomy is looking for someone to manage and lead the company’s growing software development efforts. He/she will partner with the trading team and other developers to design, build, and roll out high performance, low latency solutions at scale to optimize and improve complex trading systems and workflows. The ideal candidate should have strong people and project management skills and be knowledgeable in both trading concepts and the latest technologies.

Job Responsibilities

• Work with the Technology Lead to design, develop and own key components of technology stacks supporting our global cryptocurrencies trading desks and related operations
• Manage people and projects effectively to meet end-to-end business requirements from other parts of the business – e.g. Traders, Quants and Operations
• Maintain overall responsibility for all project deliverables
• Build effective partnerships with high-volume trading desks and operations areas to understand day-to-day requirements and provide timely resolution for live applications
• Work closely with existing global team to ensure production stability and provide 24x7 coverage
• Lead intra-team and inter-team efforts to enforce standards and ensure adherence to optimum software designs patterns
• Review and improve existing processes to better team performance
• Plan and strategize direction for the team to meet future business needs

Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering
• C++ experience is a must
• Familiarity with Unix-like operating systems
• Experience in end-to-end development of trading systems in any asset class, preferably in a hedge fund or proprietary trading firm
• 3+ years’ experience leading large (e.g. 6-12) high-performing teams across multiple time zones
• Experience working in a multi-cloud environment
• Proven track record in managing projects under challenging datelines

Skills / Abilities

• Excellent communication skills and experience working closely with Traders and/or Quants
• Motivated and self-driven
• Strong project management skills (agile methodologies)
• Excellent people management skills
• In-depth understanding of SDLC concepts and implementation
• Interest in and good understanding of both traditional finance and cryptocurrency markets
• Experience with other technologies such as Python, React, JavaScript, SQL, Machine Learning, Big Data, Blockchain is a plus
• Experience in product management is a plus
• Strong background in finance and trading concepts
