JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary
The NFLās Club Business Development department (Club BD) supports the 32 clubs in delivering direct local value and best-in-class fan experiences via data-driven insights and innovation. In addition to working with the clubs, Club BD works cross-functionally to guide key strategic initiatives at a League level.
The Manager, Strategy & Operations will drive key priorities at both the League and Club level. The role will sit at the intersection of multiple business verticals (ticketing, marketing, sponsorship, etc.) to support the local business operations of all 32 Clubs, while also identifying and capitalizing on new areas of opportunity across the League. The position requires someone who is a passionate, results-driven problem solver that uses data, creativity, and collaboration to drive transformational results. The Manager will report to the Senior Director, Ticketing Strategy & Marketing, Club Business Development and provide input on strategic decisions and planning processes within the department.
Responsibilities:
The NFL Ticket Network
- Conduct relevant market research, organize findings, and create analyses to support strategic direction/recommendations.
- Drive strategic planning, operations, and partner management for ongoing long-term League and Club level initiatives including existing League-wide Ticketing deals (NFL Ticket Network), new ticketing partners, and future best-in-class integrations & innovations.
- Identify and scope new technologies and areas of opportunity across the League including development of Ticketing NFT programs and evaluation of long-term blockchain ticketing viability in collaboration with other internal stakeholders (IT, Consumer Products, etc.)
- Support partner management (vendors, consultants, etc.) for ongoing projects and initiatives.
- Guide the NFL Ticket Networkās transformation from current to future state, driving league-wide activities that enable all 32 clubs and ticketing partners to act as a unified network.
- Assist in defining system requirements through the enhancement of existing functionality or introduction of new capabilities.
Strategic Initiatives
- Oversee end-to-end execution of organizational projects that solve critical challenges or unlock future growth opportunities for the NFL and its 32 clubs.
- Lead the execution of managementās strategic projects/task forces, typically tackling a challenge or opportunity with a specific deliverable & hard deadline. Activities include end-to-end project management, resourcing, risk mitigation, recommendations, communication frameworks, and implementation plans.
- Support Club Business Development Strategy & Analytics function with product roadmap planning and execution.
- Drive Club BD DE&I planning and priority projects.
Cross- League Operations
- Support key priorities across local Club business operations through creation of strategic and impactful toolkits and communications to ensure Club have necessary resources to activate around high impact calendar moments and initiatives (i.e., schedule release, postseason on-sale, mobile ticketing communications, etc.)
- Prepare strategic presentations and written memos for Club BD leadership, club ownership and league committee meetings
- Facilitate league-wide touchpoints to effectively disseminate information, maximize knowledge sharing, and our bring teams closer together. Shepherd opportunities/inquiries to the right team within the NFL.
- Support departmental business planning and budget management processes.
- Construct models to evaluate the NFL Ticket Networkās effectiveness through measurable KPIs and actionable insights. Drive fact-based decision making by analyzing the challenges & opportunities of key business initiatives.
Data and Analytics
- Analyze Club data to develop actionable reporting, insights, and best practices to help inform Club and League strategy.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelorās degree
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in management consulting, strategy & analytics, project management, Club operations, or related fields
- Knowledge / experience within professional sports Leagues / Clubs
- Financial analysis and/or partner management experience
- Experience in developing and implementing long-term business plans and strategies
- Experience building complex presentations in MS PowerPoint
- Experience working in MS Excel building reports and producing data-driven analysis
- Ability to effectively interpret data and story-tell
- Experience leading matrixed, cross-organizational initiatives and ability to build and foster a broad network of relationships
- Effective negotiator with a strong command of contracts and experience working with legal professionals; Familiarity reading / reviewing / writing contractual language
- Unwavering commitment to honest and ethical business interactions
- Problem solving and issue resolution skills
- Proven contributor who excels at process, project management, and delivering on high priorities

Salary / Pay Range

The NFL expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range. Only in truly rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, would the NFL consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range.
