DESCRIPTION: The AI Engineering Manager is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and passionate individual to join the team at Foundry, a subsidiary of the blockchain industry’s most prolific and active investor, Digital Currency Group. Reporting to the VP of AI, the AI Engineering Manger will oversee the development and deployment of AI solutions that integrate with and enhance blockchain protocols, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and innovative projects.

This position is required to sit in Rochester, NY.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:Utiize your strong background in AI and machine learning concepts combined with a deep understanding of blockchain technologies to lead the AI engineering team to success. Work closely with teams focused on protocols in the decentralized AI and compute realm to deploy projects and track implementation.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of AI engineers and data engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
• Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of AI projects that integrate with blockchain protocols, ensuring they meet technical specifications and business goals.
• Provide technical guidance and expertise in AI, machine learning and blockchain technologies, driving the development of advanced AI models and solutions.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including blockchain developers, product managers, business stakeholders, to align AI initiatives with company objectives.
• Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in AI and blockchain, identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement in our products and processes.
• Implement best practices for AI development, including code reviews, testing, and performance optimization, to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Manage team resources, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations, to build a strong and capable AI engineering team.

Minimum Qualifications; Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in AI and machine learning, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
• Proficiency in AI and machine learning frameworks (e.g. TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Stong programming skills in Python or similar languages.
• Understanding of blockchain technology and decentralized networks.
• Proven experience in managing complex AI projects, including project planning, execution, and delivery.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team, manage conflicts, and drive projects to successful completion.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications; Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Experience with blockchain platforms and protocols, such as Ethereum, Bittensor, or Polkadot.
• Ph.D. in AI, Machine Learning, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Relevant certifications in AI, machine learning, or blockchain technologies.
• Familiarity with the AI and blockchain landscape, including trends, challenges, and opportunities.
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced, innovative environments and adapt to emerging technologies and market trends.
• Passion for decentralization and exploring new technologies.

The salary range for this role is $125,000-$225,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This range only includes base compensation and does not include other tangible benefits such as 401K match, bonuses, overtime pay, and other benefits.
