We’re looking for a head of Product and Technology who is responsible for managing
the relationship between Unlimit and its multiple payment providers and stakeholders
across Nigeria.

Ownership: Own the end-to-end process from 1 st contact to payment method
launch. You will own and manage this relationship with the payment providers
and advise the business on progress / next steps / and deal with all day to day
items
Current: You are expected to be current on industry developments and emerging
technologies and payment trends related to payment APIs and give guidance and
recommendations and merchant integrations
Collaboration: You will work collaboratively with the senior leadership and every
department in the company, to ensure everything is taken care of for your product
to go live.
Role Split: 75% of the role is stakeholder management – with 25% being tech /
Integration / product review / testing etc.
Advisory: Determine which payment providers or which payment methods must
be prioritized and why. Conduct thorough market research and analysis to
understand merchant needs, online payment industry trends, and competitor's
offerings
Negotiations: Negotiate commercial and technical terms of cooperation with
payment methods providers

Requirements:

    • Previous experience as a Product Manager, Project Manager, or Business
    • Analyst specifically working with payment APIs or similar products
    • In-depth understanding of the merchant payment ecosystem and related technologies in Nigeria
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate market insights into actionable product strategies
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively work with stakeholders at all levels
    • Technical background or proficiency in working with engineering teams is highly desired. Familiarity with industry-leading payment providers is a plus


Education & Experience

    • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or a related field
    • 8+ years of proven experience specifically in fintech, banking, or mobile money
    • Strong understanding of the payment landscape across Africa
    • Excellent skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams
    • Demonstrated the ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, balancing multiple priorities and deadlines.
    • Strong understanding of various types of payment platforms / infrastructures (cards, mobile money, etc.)
    • Deep understanding of Nigerian and African payment methods, trends, challenges
    • Strong business acumen as well as analytical and problem-solving skills; expertise in strategy, Product development / management and planning
    • Payment Method Providers Integration, Liaison, and project management.
    • Ability to work with ambiguity; manage complex projects; flexibility to handle rapidly changing scenarios.
