The team

The Institutional Custody Group at Kraken is dedicated to the design, development, implementation, and enhancement of Kraken’s institutional platform offerings. This group collaborates closely with product, technology, and operation teams across the firm to understand the unique needs and challenges of institutional clients in the crypto space. The focus is on crafting a robust, scalable, and user-friendly platform that caters to the sophisticated requirements of institutional clients.

The opportunity

As a Technical Project Manager for our Institutional Platform product, you will play a critical role in overseeing the successful delivery of complex cross-functional projects that are pivotal to Kraken's institutional growth. This position requires strong collaboration across technical, business, legal, compliance, finance, and treasury teams to enhance and expand our institutional platform offerings.

  • Manage and coordinate multiple cross-functional teams across multiple domains to deliver best-in-class crypto custody solutions for institutional clients

  • Define project objectives, develop detailed work plans, set timelines, and allocate resources to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget

  • Responsible for managing, tracking, and reporting group outcomes, managing dashboards to identify trends, and provide actionable insights

  • Work closely with Product Management, Design, Engineering, Legal, Compliance, Finance, and other departments to align on project goals and ensure cohesive execution

  • Implement and promote best practices in project management, process improvements, and efficient workflows to enhance project delivery

  • Facilitate effective communication among stakeholders at all project phases, providing updates on progress (MBR,QBR), addressing concerns, and managing expectations

  • Produce comprehensive technical documentation, including project specifications, workflows, and integration guides to support project execution and future scalability

Skills you should HODL

  • Minimum of 6+ years technical program/project management experience delivering end to end complex cross-functional projects in a fast-paced environment

  • Comprehensive understanding of blockchain, systems architecture, APIs, and technical requirements 

  • Demonstrated track record of successfully managing and delivering complex, cross-functional projects in a fast-paced environment, preferably in fintech or the crypto industry

  • Track record in supporting teams with their roadmap planning, establishing delivery plans, collecting and analyzing project data, and ensuring accurate reporting

  • Expert in putting together cross-functional project plans, identifying dependencies and managing critical path milestones to drive successful cross-team outcomes

  • Passionate about simplifying the complex, driving smooth coordination towards clear, shared goals, and have an overall optimistic outlook towards the future

  • Deep  understanding of project management principles and best practices, and a commitment to continuously improving project management processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and project outcomes

  • Proficiency with project management tools like JIRA, Confluence, Tableau and EazyBI, or Trello

  • Strong organizational skills, capable of managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and quality

  • Previous experience working in a start-up with an ability to adapt to changing priorities and rapid growth

Nice to haves

  • Experience in Crypto or Finance is a huge plus
