QA Manager - Platform Game Services

We are Mythical Games. A Venture-backed next-generation game technology company at the intersection of video games and economics led by industry veterans. Our goal is to lead the industry with the launch of exceptional video game experiences that leverage distributed ledger technology, while also providing a platform of robust tools that will allow any other game developers to do the same.

We are actively looking for a talented and driven QA Manager to join our growing Platform QA team. This role will play an integral part in ensuring the quality of our Platform Game Services, focused on both backend and front-end services.

The ideal candidate will be self organizing, proactive and passionate about speeding up delivery time without sacrificing quality. They believe quality engineering goes well beyond just validation and testing, but also building a culture that quality is everyone’s responsibility. They will lead a team of Quality engineers throughout the development life cycle to ensure a high standard of quality with each release. They will be highly collaborative and work closely with engineering managers and product leads to identify, scope and project efforts.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and grow a team of Quality Engineers.
  • Mentor and guide direct reports on their growth journey.
  • Identify QA strategy/process gaps and propose solutions/improvements.
  • Evaluate product roadmaps to determine quality needs, efforts and risks.
  • Provide visibility into current states, challenges and goals.
  • Help define and work towards QA and Engineering KPIs.
  • Work with a team of SDETs to identify automation foundation needs.
  • Work with the Game Client QA team to identify gaps and overlaps in test coverage.
  • Promote best practices and expectations for items delivered to QA.
  • Have fun.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience managing/leading Quality Engineering teams.
  • 5+ years of quality engineering experience.
  • Strong people leadership skills.
  • Strong vision of how a QA department should operate.
  • Experience implementing various test design techniques.
  • Ability to identify testing and delivery gaps and provide solutions.
  • Experience with QA’s role in CICD.
  • Ability to maintain a deep understanding of the entire technology stack.
  • Experience designing and building test frameworks for both front end and back end systems.
  • Desire and ability to give your direct reports the best opportunity to succeed and grow.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.
  • Excellent planning, organization and time management skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to “think outside of the box”
  • Proactive communication and transparency.

Highly Preferred, if:

  • You have Blockchain testing experience.
  • You have DevOps experience.
  • You’ve worked with Google Cloud Platform infrastructure.
  • You have a strong background in test automation.
  • You have experience with Security testing.
  • You have a passion for gaming, marketplaces, and/or blockchain technology
