Whatnot has been the fastest growing marketplace in the US over the past two years and we’re hiring forward-thinking problem solvers across all functional areas. šŸ’» Role The Senior Manager of Payments Strategy & Operations will lead our payments S&O team, overseeing the strategy and execution of our global payment initiatives. This role is pivotal in enhancing the buyer and seller experience through innovative payment solutions, ensuring transparency, security, and efficiency in all transactions.

Develop and execute the company's payments strategy in coordination with the Product Payments team. Lead payment processor negotiations in partnership with the business development team. Design the payment stack for Whatnot (payment processors, flows, bank partners, etc) in the US and abroad. Identify and implement a wide range of payment options, including credit cards, digital wallets, and ACH, to enhance the buyer's purchasing experience. Drive initiatives to improve the payment experience across various price ranges, categories, and countries. Oversee payment process ops, ensuring smooth, secure, and transparent transactions. Manage post-checkout processes, including clear communication on charges, shipping, and fees. Co-lead efforts with the Product Payments team to streamline and automate payment workflows, enhancing reliability and uptime. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive payment-related projects and initiatives.

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred. 10+ years of experience in payments strategy and operations, preferably in ecommerce or marketplace. Proven track record of developing and executing successful payments strategies. Strong understanding of global payment methods, systems, and regulations. Excellent leadership and team management skills. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

šŸ’°Compensation For Full-Time (Salary) US-based applicants: $190,000/year to $235,000year + benefits + equity The salary range may be inclusive of several levels that would be applicable to the position. Final salary will be based on a number of factors including, level, relevant prior experience, skills and expertise.
