A leading global macro team is looking to appoint a Chief Strategist to build and own a new digital assets and crypto product, aimed squarely at its core institutional client base.
This is a senior, franchise-defining hire. The successful candidate will have full ownership of the product, shaping its voice, scope, and analytical framework from the ground up, while working alongside an established macro research platform and a dedicated global sales team.
The Role
- Own and publish a weekly research product covering crypto and digital assets for institutional macro investors
- Frame digital assets within a global macro, liquidity, and cross-asset context, consistent with how other asset classes are covered across the platform
- Write with intellectual independence and curiosity — rigorous, but not constrained by traditional sell-side conventions
- Engage directly with clients: explaining views, defending frameworks, and helping position the product as part of a broader macro toolkit
- Act as the editorial face of the franchise, working closely with internal stakeholders across research, product, and sales (without direct selling responsibility)
Coverage Will Include
- Digital assets within the broader Capital Markets landscape
- Bitcoin and Ethereum
- Digital asset markets more broadly (including DeFi and stablecoins)
- Market structure, regulation, and institutional adoption
- Intersections with rates, FX, liquidity cycles, risk appetite, and global macro regimes
Candidate Profile
- Senior research professional with strong authorship credibility and a track record of publishing institutional-grade analysis
- Deep understanding of global macro, with genuine fluency in crypto and digital assets
- Comfortable owning a product end-to-end: idea generation, writing, positioning, and client dialogue
- Able to write clearly and provocatively without drifting into hype or retail->
- Experience engaging directly with hedge funds, asset managers, or other institutional investors is essential
What This Is Not
- A trading or price-target role
- A marketing or sales position
- A crypto-native commentary product aimed at retail audiences
This role would suit someone who sees digital assets as an increasingly important macro input, and who wants the autonomy to define how that story is told to serious institutional investors.
