We're looking for an experienced, detail-oriented Staff Software Engineer with an enthusiasm for building and scaling feature-rich, well-tested, and polished applications with modern technologies like GraphQL, Elasticsearch, and Postgres. This individual will lead the development of core features of the OpenSea marketplace backend. 

Responsibilities - Architect and design core product features from start to finish; from conception and research to implementation and iteration, all the way through deployment, maintenance, and future iterations.  - Help architect and build performant backend systems for serving our core marketplace features. - Mentor and train other team members on best practices and approaching large ambiguous problems. - Shepherd products from designs and specifications to live deployments. - Scale OpenSea across multiple blockchains and core protocols. - Prioritize projects and tasks based on impact; balancing moving fast and building for the long haul.  

Desired Experience - Proven experience of leading the development of a brand new platform. - Deep knowledge of web technologies and large-scale web application architectures. - 6+ years of industry experience building scalable backend systems - An ability to write high quality, well tested code. - Potential to grow into a leadership position as the team expands. - (nice to have) A passion or growing interest in decentralized technologies. - (nice to have) An understanding of the basic mechanics of blockchain applications and dApps.
