Blockstream was founded in 2014 by Dr. Adam Back and a group of fellow cryptographers and engineers who were passionate about Bitcoin and its potential to change the future of finance. Focusing on building fundamental Bitcoin infrastructure, Blockstream quickly became one of the industry's leading technology powerhouses. We invest heavily in R&D, including efforts to improve upon the programmability of Bitcoin. We made primary contributions to major advances such as Miniscript and Taproot, and weâve demonstrated the power of additional op-codes for deploying covenants on Liquid. But perhaps our most visionary endeavor in this field is the development of a new programming language that could one day replace Bitcoin Script: Simplicity. We are seeking a Technical Product Manager to steward the ongoing development of the Simplicity programming language and the developer tools that will foster its growth and adoption. What Youâll Be Doing (Responsibilities):
Engage with Simplicity developers to understand their use cases and pain points. Work with Blockstream engineering to address gaps in the product offering and establish requirements, priorities and a synthesized roadmap optimizing for ecosystem growth. Own the developer experience across published libraries, tools, documentation. Identify and execute on cross-over opportunities, helping projects port existing functionality to a Simplicity implementation. Work with engineering, marketing and support teams to develop articles, videos, slides, documentation and social media posts to foster awareness and education about your products. Identify opportunities and lead efforts to integrate Simplicity into Blockstreamâs core product offerings, especially to drive sales of paid solutions. Success in this role means growing the base of developers using Simplicity and ensuring that the language is solving problems for high-value, real-world financial applications
What We Look For In You (Required Qualifications):
5+ years experience as a product manager building solutions for developers - APIs, SDKs, docs, etc. B.S. in Computer Science or other technical fields of study. 1+ years experience as a software developer. Strong grasp of the Bitcoin protocol and fundamentals of Bitcoin Script. Exceptional communication skills and aptitude for conveying complex technical concepts.
Nice To Haves (Preferred Qualifications):
Prior work experience on Bitcoin-related products. Experience with other smart contracting platforms and their application / adoption among businesses from the TradFi sector. Deep understanding of traditional financial systems, services & products.
