About the Job

Neon Labs is looking for a full-time Senior Research Engineer to join our team. Neon Labs has ported the Ethereum Virtual Machine to the Solana blockchain. Neon EVM enables dApps to harness advantages from both blockchains: Ethereum in terms of tools used, and Solana in terms of low gas fees, high throughput and liquidity.

Your Skills and Qualifications

Extensive experience with a compiled language (Rust, C/C++, Golang). We use Rust to develop our products, but previous experience with this language is optional. Ability to work with different programming languages and tools Interest in learning the latest technology Solid experience in core blockchain protocols design Deep knowledge of scaling solutions like optimistic and zero-knowledge-based rollups, sidechains, and state channels Scientific mindset: constantly on the lookout for new and innovative ways to solve complex problems through rigorous experimentation Ability to read and understand research papers, analyze the tradeoffs, and offer new and improved solutions Passionate about solving real-world problems that impact the present blockchain space

Your Tasks

Research the existing Layer 2 solutions Design reliable and maintainable Layer 2 solutions Provide Proof of Concept implementation Write high-quality research papers that can be used for the development process and can be published Contribute to the design and specifications of future versions of Neon Labs products
