Protofire is looking for a candidate for a hands-on leadership role ideal for a founder-type with a background in DeFi or Web3 startups, particularly someone motivated by long-term equity outcomes and the challenge of building from 0 to 1 in a rapidly evolving market.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee architecture, delivery, sales, and account management within the business unit
  • Guide technical solution design, helping teams focus on core components and high-impact areas
  • Own the business unit's P&L, including budgeting, forecasting, and procurement
  • Build strong client relationships with a focus on retention, upsell, and value creation
  • Resolve escalations and continuously improve service delivery and internal processes
  • Proactively identify risks and take preventive or corrective action
  • Ensure full operational transparency through documentation and tooling (ClickUp, Runn.io, etc.)
  • Align the business unit with DAO-wide standards and reporting expectations
  • Incubate new offers and explore market opportunities for long-term growth

Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience as a co-founder or early leader in a Web3 or DeFi protocol
  • Proven track record in startups that have exited via acquisition or IPO
  • Deep understanding of smart contracts, dApps, tokenomics, consensus mechanisms, and blockchain infrastructure (e.g. Ethereum, Solana)
  • Familiarity with automated market makers and different investor profiles (whales, institutional, retail)
  • Strong grasp of solution architecture and software development lifecycles
  • Ability to analyse business models, product-market fit, and underlying value propositions
  • Experience with business tools such as Figma, Lean Canvas, or similar
  • Comfortable navigating market cycles and responding strategically
  • Demonstrated ability to operate transparently in fully remote, async environments
