About The Role
- Role: Founding Engineer
- Pay: $185k-$205k
- Equity: 0.8% – 1.75%
We believe that people should own their financial identity and use it with any app or service they want, whenever they need. Accessing, maintaining, and mixing-and-matching Web2 and Web3 services must be easier, more transparent, and more trustworthy.
Portabl enables consumers to simplify how their own users verify, organize, and sync identity data and documents across their whole financial lives. The goal: universal financial identity for all.
By leaning on new standards in verifiable credentials and decentralized identity we will deliver a portable identity that works for anyone. Getting this right means we can simplify and automate many parts of the identity/ KYC/ compliance stack that currently prevent the financial system from being more cost-effective, more inclusive, and more equitable.
- As an early core team member, you’ll play a key role in helping shape our vision, culture, and engineering practices.
- You will help create new standards that have a direct, positive impact on web2 and web3 consumers.
- You can leave the system better than you found it—fixing identity has a direct impact on improving financial access for those who need it most.
- The market opportunity is massive: estimates put the financial ID market size between $30B and $100B
We’re a small team comprised of Web2 and Web3 veterans hailing from Consensys, Paypal, US Mobile, Ava Labs, and other corners of the fintech and regtech universe who share a common goal of making identity more standardized, composable, and easier to use across the financial services space.
We recognize that transforming digital identity has many challenges, which is why we value trust, curiosity, empathy, and craft. If this sounds like you, and you're excited by the idea of getting in at the ground level and building the infrastructure for the future of the financial identity, we would love to hear from you!
We’ve raised funds from top-tier early stage investors in both Web2 and Web3 including...
- Harlem Capital
- 6th Man Ventures
- Bessemer Venture Partners
- Dorm Room Fund
- PearVC
