Protochain is a research-oriented development and trading firm focused on building the future of crypto infrastructure and markets.

We're a team of both builders and traders who work to unlock the long-term potential of crypto by building a suite of products, contributing to decentralized protocols and open-source codebases, and improving market structure. We are based out of New York City, with the possibility to be remote depending on the position.

As a Smart Contract Engineer at Protochain, you'll work on a number of Protochain-contributed projects.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with our smart contract development team to develop and build new core smart contracts.

  • Brainstorm and ideate on new protocol designs.

  • Engage and work with both internal and external auditing teams and implementing feedback.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional engineering experience working in a collaborative product-driven environment

  • Deployed multiple smart contracts to Ethereum mainnet or an EVM compatible chain that secured substantial user funds

  • Deep understanding of Solidity and the EVM

  • Active participant in the blockchain ecosystem as a user

  • Experience owning multi month long projects, including communication of progress, dependencies, and risk mitigation directly with stakeholders and partners

  • Computer science fundamentals and systems design

Nice to Have

  • Experience in Rust, TypeScript, AWS

  • Experience developing smart contracts on non-EVM blockchains

  • Experience building dApps end to end

  • Curious about financial markets

  • Enjoys working like an owner, prepared to work somewhat non-standard hours as crypto is 24/7/365
