The Role

The Program Manager for the a16z crypto team in New York will lead the planning and execution of a 12-week, in-person, NYC-based program. This role is responsible for overseeing weekly hospitality events, managing operational logistics, and ensuring seamless coordination across internal teams and external partners. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in hospitality, events, and cross-functional collaboration.

This is a 4-5 month temporary contract role based in New York City, NY. This role requires regular in-office presence Monday through Thursday, with additional in-office days as needed.

To join our team, you should be excited to:

  • Partner with the Events Manager to design and execute a 12-week activity and hospitality schedule
  • Oversee weekly experiences including happy hours, dinners, and other activities/events
  • Manage weekly communications related to programming and events
  • Partner with the on-site Office Coordinator to support the weekly seminar(s) and filming logistics
  • Provide logistical and operational support for seminar speakers once identified
  • Coordinate with editorial and production teams to ensure seamless content capture
  • Provide additional operational and workflow support as needed to ensure overall program success
  • Support the build-out and setup of program meeting spaces, including:
    • Filming and production technology
    • Workstations and workspace configuration
    • IT coordination and partnership
  • Assist with office load-in and setup prior to program launch
  • Assist with pack-up and load-out upon program completion

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3–6+ years of experience in program management, event operations, hospitality, or similar roles (like stage/production management)
  • Experience managing in-person events
  • Experience with cross-functional coordination
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment

The anticipated weekly rate for this role is $2,500/week, actual starting pay may vary based on a range of factors which can include experience, skills, and scope.
