Key Responsibilities

As a Backend Senior Manager, you will be the core technical leader of the company’s backend business, responsible for formulating the backend technical strategy, technical roadmap, and system architecture plan, aligning with the company’s business development goals and regulatory requirements. You will oversee the full lifecycle of backend system development, including architecture design, technical selection, development implementation, testing, deployment, iteration, and maintenance, focusing on supporting core business links such as digital currency spot trading, derivative trading, fund recharge and withdrawal, user authentication, and transaction settlement. This role requires in-depth understanding of backend development technologies, rich senior team management experience, strong system architecture design capabilities, and familiarity with backend security and compliance requirements related to digital assets, to ensure the company’s backend systems are stable, efficient, secure, and scalable.

Key Responsibilities

1. Backend Technical Strategy & Architecture Planning

  • Formulate the company’s backend technical strategy, long-term and short-term technical roadmap, and system architecture plan, combining the company’s business development needs (digital currency trading, payment settlement) and industry technical trends (distributed systems, microservices, cloud native, big data, etc.).
  • Lead the design and optimization of the core backend system architecture, determine the technical framework, technology stack (such as Java, Go, Python, Node.js), and system deployment mode (on-premises, cloud, hybrid cloud), ensure the scalability, maintainability, high availability, and security of the system.
  • Research and introduce advanced backend technologies, tools, and methodologies (such as microservice architecture, containerization, CI/CD, monitoring and alerting), promote technical innovation and architecture optimization, improve development efficiency, system performance, and operation and maintenance capabilities.
  • Evaluate and select technical solutions for core business scenarios, provide technical decision support for business development, and ensure that technical solutions are aligned with business goals and regulatory requirements.

2. Backend System Development & Lifecycle Management

  • Oversee the full lifecycle of backend system development, including demand review, technical design, coding development, unit testing, integration testing, UAT testing, deployment, and online operation, ensuring that the development work is completed on time, with quality and quantity.
  • Supervise the development of core backend modules, including trading system, payment settlement system, user management system, asset management system, risk control system, and API gateway, ensuring that system functions meet business requirements and regulatory standards.
  • Manage backend system iteration and maintenance work, monitor system operation status, collect and analyze system performance data, identify and solve system bottlenecks, fix online bugs in a timely manner, and continuously optimize system performance and stability.
  • Coordinate with the DevOps team to build and optimize the CI/CD pipeline, improve the automation level of system deployment, testing, and operation and maintenance, reduce manual operations, and improve system deployment efficiency and stability.

3. Backend Security & Compliance Management

  • Establish and improve the backend system security management system, formulate security standards and specifications, and ensure that the backend system meets data security, user privacy protection, and digital asset security requirements.
  • Lead the security development of backend systems, conduct regular security audits, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests, identify and fix security risks (such as data leakage, malicious attacks, and transaction tampering), and ensure the security of user assets and transaction data.
  • Ensure that backend system development and operation comply with global regulatory requirements (FATF, MiCA, local regulations), cooperate with the compliance and risk control teams to complete system compliance reviews, regulatory filings, and security assessments, and provide relevant technical materials and explanations.
  • Establish a system disaster recovery plan and emergency response mechanism, conduct regular disaster recovery drills, ensure business continuity in case of system failures or emergencies.

4. Team Management & Talent Development

  • Build, manage, and develop the backend development team, formulate team structure, OKRs, performance assessment standards, and talent training plans, and improve the team’s overall professional capabilities (backend development, architecture design, security development, etc.).
  • Arrange daily work assignments for the team, supervise work progress, solve complex technical difficulties in the development process, and create a positive, collaborative, and high-performance technical team atmosphere.
  • Guide team members’ professional growth, cultivate technical backbones and system architects, organize technical training, technical sharing, and skill assessments, and build a professional backend talent echelon.
  • Manage team performance, conduct regular performance reviews, motivate team members to achieve work goals, and retain core technical talents.

5. Cross-departmental Collaboration & Technical Coordination

  • Communicate closely with product, app development, trading, compliance, risk control, operations, and other departments to understand business needs, coordinate backend development-related work, and ensure that backend systems are closely aligned with business development.
  • Coordinate with the app development team to optimize API design and interface docking, ensure the smooth interaction between backend and frontend systems, and improve the overall product experience.
  • Cooperate with the data team to provide data support for business analysis, risk control, and decision-making, and optimize data collection, storage, and analysis processes.
  • Communicate with external technical partners (cloud service providers, security service providers, etc.) to handle technical cooperation and coordination matters, and ensure the smooth operation of backend systems.

6. Project & Resource Management

  • Manage key backend development projects, formulate project plans, control project progress, cost, and quality, identify project risks, and put forward targeted risk mitigation measures.
  • Formulate the backend development team’s budget plan, control development costs, reasonably allocate technical resources, and improve resource utilization efficiency.
  • Track and analyze project execution, conduct project summary and review, summarize experience and lessons, and continuously optimize project management processes.

Requirements

 
  1. Experience: 10+ years of backend development and management work experience, including 5+ years of senior backend team management experience; preferred experience in fintech, digital currency, payment, or large-scale internet financial institutions. Deep understanding of backend development processes, system architecture design, and digital asset-related business models, with experience in leading the development and operation of large-scale backend systems (supporting high concurrency, high availability).
  2. Professional Expertise:
    1. Proficient in backend development technologies and frameworks, familiar with at least one mainstream programming language (Java, Go, Python, Node.js), with rich practical development experience in distributed systems, microservices, and cloud native technologies.
    2. Excellent system architecture design capabilities, able to design scalable, high-availability, and secure backend architectures for core business scenarios (such as high-concurrency trading systems, large-scale payment settlement systems).
    3. Familiar with backend security technologies (encryption, authentication, authorization, anti-attack), with experience in building and optimizing backend security systems, and familiar with digital asset-related security compliance requirements.
    4. Familiar with DevOps practices (CI/CD, containerization, monitoring and alerting), proficient in using related tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Prometheus, etc.), able to improve the automation level of development and operation and maintenance.
    5. Familiar with digital currency exchange-related business (spot trading, derivative trading, fund recharge and withdrawal, transaction settlement), able to convert business needs into technical solutions and architecture designs.
  3. Leadership & Management: Excellent leadership and senior team management capabilities, able to build and lead a high-performance backend development team; strong strategic thinking, decision-making capabilities, and resource integration capabilities.
  4. Technical Research & Innovation: Strong technical sensitivity and learning ability, able to track industry technical trends, research and introduce advanced technologies, and promote technical innovation and architecture optimization.
  5. Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills in both Chinese and English, able to effectively communicate with senior management, cross-departmental colleagues, external partners, and team members.
  6. Education: Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related fields; relevant professional certifications (such as PMP, CKA, CKAD, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Has backend senior management experience in compliant digital currency exchanges, familiar with the backend development needs and compliance requirements of digital currency trading systems.
  • Has experience in leading the transformation of backend systems (such as monolithic architecture to microservice architecture, traditional deployment to cloud native deployment), with rich experience in system performance optimization and high concurrency processing.
  • Has experience in handling large-scale backend system failures and security incidents, and is proficient in formulating emergency response plans and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Familiar with blockchain technology and digital asset underlying logic, able to combine technical iteration to optimize backend system functions and security.
