Who We Are:
Ethena Labs is at the forefront of the next wave of DeFi, dedicated to building products for modern finance. Ethena is a synthetic dollar protocol built on Ethereum that provides a crypto-native solution for money, USDe, alongside a globally accessible dollar savings asset, sUSDe.

Our core mission is to provide truly crypto-native financial solutions that are globally accessible and bridge the gap between TradFi and the digital asset economy. We believe in transparency, efficiency, and empowering both individuals and institutions with greater control over their assets.

What we are Doing:
Ethena Labs is actively building and deploying a suite of groundbreaking products designed to address key challenges and unlock new opportunities within the digital finance landscape.

Our flagship product, USDe, is a synthetic dollar backed by digital assets, and takes the novel approach of using a delta-neutral hedging strategy to maintain its peg. This provides a truly scalable and censorship-resistant digital dollar.

Building upon USDe, we offer sUSDe. sUSDe provides crypto-native rewards generated from funding rates in derivatives markets, offering an alternative to existing products tethered to the traditional financial system.

Furthermore, we are actively developing solutions to facilitate institutional adoption of digital assets. In partnership with Securitize and Blackrocks BUIDL fund, USDtb provides a more traditional, asset-backed stablecoin option, leveraging established financial infrastructure to appeal to institutional clients. Expanding on this, iUSDe is designed specifically for traditional financial institutions, incorporating necessary compliance features to enable them to access the crypto-native rewards our protocol generates, in an institutional-friendly manner.

Finally, our most ambitious undertaking to date is Converge, our joint blockchain initiative with Securitize. This hybrid blockchain is designed to be the nexus where DeFi meets the needs of CeFi and TradFi. Converge aims to be a primary issuance layer for tokenised assets, integrating seamlessly with existing DeFi protocols to provide institutions with an environment to participate in the decentralised economy.

Through these offerings, Ethena Labs is not just creating new financial products; we are building the foundational infrastructure for a more open, efficient, and interconnected global financial system.

The Role

The Compliance Operations Specialist will be a key supporting member of Ethena’s compliance function, working directly with the Compliance Manager to ensure our internal processes scale efficiently and meet evolving regulatory and partner expectations. This role is critical to maintaining operational excellence across onboarding, investor whitelisting, due diligence management, and blockchain investigations — all within the fast-paced, crypto-native environment of Ethena.

You’ll help execute the systems behind Ethena’s compliance obligations related to our synthetic dollar (USDe), tokenized treasury infrastructure (USDtb), and upcoming global licensing initiatives. This role is ideal for someone who’s detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and has real-world crypto compliance experience. You’ll be expected to take ownership of core operational workflows, maintain high-quality documentation, and help design scalable, structured processes that support both legal and product growth.

This is a hands-on role with meaningful responsibility from day one — and a clear path toward greater ownership as Ethena’s compliance needs grow.

What You’ll Do

    • Support the Compliance Manager in executing and refining day-to-day onboarding, due diligence, and investigation processes across Ethena’s global compliance operations
    • Manage the full investor and partner onboarding workflow via Sumsub — including document review, entity structuring checks, risk flagging, and case escalation
    • Lead the intake and coordination of external compliance and DDQ requests from minters, investors, counterparties, and vendors, ensuring timely and consistent responses using live document repositories
    • Help build and implement the investor whitelisting lifecycle, including address collection, sanctions screening, and on-chain transaction monitoring with tools like TRM
    • Act as a key internal point of contact for compliance operations by proactively identifying bottlenecks and working with the Compliance Manager to streamline and automate core processes

What We’re Looking For

    • Hands-on experience with crypto compliance operations, including KYB onboarding, blockchain investigations, and interacting with KYC/AML platforms (Sumsub, TRM, Chainalysis, etc.)
    • Strong understanding of corporate onboarding workflows, including complex corporate structures, beneficial ownership checks, and document validation across multiple entity types
    • Practical knowledge of AML compliance frameworks and day-to-day transaction monitoring — beyond theory, you know how alerts are triaged, escalated, and resolved
    • Excellent organisational and documentation skills; you're comfortable building and maintaining structured knowledge bases and keeping records clean, versioned, and audit-ready
    • Ability to manage your own tasks and timelines in a globally distributed team, including ownership of internal deadlines and proactive follow-up with stakeholders
    • Comfortable working with compliance tooling and adapting to changing product flows; you’re tech-savvy and can spot inefficiencies in workflows or processes
$70,000 - $100,000 a year
