DESCRIPTION: The Mechanical Engineer is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and passionate individual to join the team at Foundry, a subsidiary of the blockchain industry’s most prolific and active investor, Digital Currency Group. Reporting to the Director, Mining Equipment, the Mechanical Engineer will be the driving force behind designing, testing, and optimizing mechanical components and systems, ensuring they meet stringent performance and reliability standards for cutting-edge applications in blockchain infrastructure.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:This role is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team at the forefront of blockchain technology. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will utilize your expertise in prototyping, 3D printing, and system analysis to develop innovative solutions that will enhance the efficiency and reliability of mechanical systems. Your contributions will be integral in supporting Foundry's mission to empower a decentralized future through robust and high-performing engineering designs.

WHAT YOU WILL DO: Design, develop, and test mechanical components and systems, with a focus on prototyping and 3D printing.

  • Utilize 3D printing technologies to create prototypes and production parts, optimizing designs for manufacturability and performance.
  • Develop and analyze hydraulic systems, including designing hydraulic circuits and components.
  • Conduct materials testing to evaluate the performance, durability, and reliability of materials used in mechanical systems.
  • Analyze and design thermal systems to manage heat dissipation and thermal performance in mechanical components.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical designs with other engineering disciplines and ensure project success.
  • Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation, including design specifications, test reports, and user manuals.
  • Oversee and participate in hands-on assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of prototypes and systems.

Minimum Qualifications; Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Skilled in using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) or other 3D engineering tools.
  • Proven experience in prototyping, including hands-on work with 3D printing technologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems, including design and analysis.
  • Knowledge of thermal systems design and analysis.
  • Experience with materials testing and evaluation, with the ability to interpret test results and apply findings to design improvements.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications; Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Familiarity with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) and other simulation tools.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices related to hydraulic and thermal systems.
  • Experience with cryptocurrency mining, data center operations and other related fields

The salary range for this role is(80,000 – 120,000). This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This range only includes base compensation and does not include other tangible benefits such as 401K match, bonuses, overtime pay, and other benefits.
