Want to help build Web 3.0? Triton One operates the largest Solana RPC deployment with 24/7 operations coverage. We're a fully remote team working across the globe, and we're looking for experienced system administrators and SREs to help us run and improve critical infrastructure for Solana, SUI, and other ecosystems.
This role is open to candidates located roughly in EU to support our existing European team.
About Us:
Triton One is an international, fully remote company specializing in high-end infrastructure services for blockchain and other ecosystems, including Solana, PythNet, Wormhole, Sui, Eclipse and Monad.
In the past year, we have (among many other things):
- Created and open-sourced key pieces of Solana infrastructure as part of our Yellowstone project:
- Dragon’s Mouth gRPC for streaming services provides a standardised way to access Solana’s geyser interface
- Old Faithful, the first full history archive of Solana
- Built high-performance indexing on Solana in the form of Steamboat for program queries
- Worked together with other ecosystem actors to make the Digital Asset API a production-ready service
In the coming year, we look forward to building further developments of the Solana RPC stack and building better services for other chains. We’re crypto natives who provide bespoke infrastructure for DeFi & NFT applications. Join us and help build Web 3.0!
The Role:
We’re looking for an experienced Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to take ownership of our production systems’ availability, latency, performance, and capacity. In this role, you’ll apply your expertise in automation, monitoring, and resilient system design to maintain and improve our critical, large-scale blockchain infrastructure.
You will:
- Respond to customer support requests and participate in our 24/7 support rotation
- Maintain internal documentation and deployment playbooks
- Modify and test server configurations, then deploy to production
- Monitor infrastructure and respond to alerts
- Automate tasks using tools like Ansible, Terraform, and Nomad
- Contribute to internal tooling and platform improvements
- Stay current with changes in the protocols and tooling we support
- Other duties as assigned
Although the focus of this role is SRE work, there’s room to grow into other areas depending on your strengths — whether that’s platform engineering, blockchain infrastructure, networking, or data system architecture.
Requirements:
- 6+ years of relevant work experience in systems or infrastructure roles
- Strong experience with Ansible
- Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, and related monitoring tools
- Solid understanding of networking and Linux-based systems
- Hardware knowledge and experience managing physical or cloud-based fleets
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills — we speak several languages, but work mostly in English
Preferred skills:
- Prior experience with Solana, SUI, or other blockchain infrastructure
- Familiarity with the HashiCorp stack: Nomad, Consul, Vault
- Experience with HAProxy or similar load balancing software
- Programming experience in Go, Rust, or Python is a plus
Don’t meet all the “preferred” criteria? Don’t let that stop you! Let us know in your application where you’d still need to get up to speed – the most important thing to us is that you love taking on big challenges, and learning new skills while solving problems.
Compensation:
We offer competitive compensation based on experience, available either as full-time employment or hourly contracting — we’re flexible. Payment can be made in crypto or several fiat currencies.
Our interview process:
Our team works hard to build a high-trust, high-transparency environment. You’ll be working directly with team members across all areas of the business and you’ll be driving your own projects, so it’s important that you’re comfortable taking ownership of your work and outcomes.
For that reason, a successful interview process looks like:
- A brief screening call with our Business Manager
- A technical interview with members of your future team and one of our founders
- You should be comfortable discussing technical challenges during this process
Excited? Please share your resume! We can’t wait to meet you!
How do I get a job at DeFi?
Getting a job in the DeFi (decentralized finance) industry can be a competitive process, but there are a few steps you can take to increase your chances of finding a job in this field:
- Build up your skills and knowledge: To work in DeFi, you'll likely need to have a strong understanding of blockchain technology, as well as other related technologies such as smart contracts and cryptocurrency. Consider taking online courses or earning a degree in a relevant field to build up your skills and knowledge.
- Network with industry professionals: Attend meetups and conferences related to DeFi and make connections with professionals in the industry. Networking can be a valuable way to learn about job openings and get your foot in the door at a DeFi company.
- Create a strong online presence: Many DeFi companies will look at your online presence (such as your LinkedIn profile and personal website) when considering you for a job. Make sure to showcase your skills and accomplishments online and keep your profile up to date.
- Apply for relevant job openings: Keep an eye out for job openings at DeFi companies and apply for positions that align with your skills and experience. Apply for DeFi Jobs without Experience. Tailor your resume and cover letter to the specific job you're applying for and highlight any relevant experience or skills you have.
- Consider internships or volunteer work: DeFi Internships or volunteer work can be a great way to get your foot in the door and gain valuable experience in the DeFi industry. Many companies also offer internships to students, so consider applying for an internship if you're still in school.
- Be persistent: keep trying if you don't get a job right away. It can take time to find the right opportunity, but with the right skills and determination, you can land a job in the DeFi industry.
