We are hiring a Technical Product Manager to own the end-to-end experience for developers building on Optimism.
This person will be responsible for our production network, testnets, documentation, dev tooling, services, public endpoints, and infrastructure â all with the goal of making Optimism the best ecosystem in crypto to build on.
This person will also go deep into the crypto dev communities, working with rouge degens, Ethereumâs largest blue-chip projects, and founders hacking across the world in order to build a nuanced knowledge of the joys and pains of building EVM applications.
Part dev, part anthropologist, part executor. Is it you?
You will:
- Define the strategy, roadmap, and prioritization for developer experience on Optimism.
- Work with design and engineering to define, build, and launch compelling features.
- Measure success and communicate progress across the organization and broader community.
- Use data to inform the teamâs decisions around what we build and why.
- Build a deep understanding of developersâ needs, behaviors, and motivations
- Work with marketing, community, and business development to define programs that drive product success and adoption.
- Represent the voice of our developers in conversations around growth, strategy, and comms.
- Create or define standards, specifications, and reference implementations of tools for partners to drive adoption and usage.
- Become an expert in the market, trends, and landscape to position Optimism for success.
You may be a fit if:
- You have experience as a product manager shipping features to a technical audience.
- You have experience building crypto applications users love.
- Youâre an inspiring communicator, in writing and in person, whether youâre talking to developers, a business partner, or the CEO.
- Youâre skilled at translating customer feedback into actionable priorities.
- Youâre biased towards action, and you roll up your sleeves to get things done when the situation calls for it.
- Youâre comfortable with ambiguity and excel at finding a clear path forward from competing or conflicting inputs.
- Youâre curious and like to learn new things, whether theyâre nuanced perspectives from our users, new financial primitives, or new skills.
- Youâve worked on or are very well-versed in crypto, web3, and DeFi.
- You have a technical background.
- You can work synchronously in all or most of North American waking hours.
(If you fit some but not all of these criteria, you should apply anyway!)
Optimism focuses on Blockchain / Cryptocurrency. Their company has offices in Los Angeles, New York City, Seattle, and Remote. They have a small team that's between 11-50 employees.
You can view their website at https://optimism.io or find them on Twitter.
How do I get a job at DeFi?
Getting a job in the DeFi (decentralized finance) industry can be a competitive process, but there are a few steps you can take to increase your chances of finding a job in this field:
- Build up your skills and knowledge: To work in DeFi, you'll likely need to have a strong understanding of blockchain technology, as well as other related technologies such as smart contracts and cryptocurrency. Consider taking online courses or earning a degree in a relevant field to build up your skills and knowledge.
- Network with industry professionals: Attend meetups and conferences related to DeFi and make connections with professionals in the industry. Networking can be a valuable way to learn about job openings and get your foot in the door at a DeFi company.
- Create a strong online presence: Many DeFi companies will look at your online presence (such as your LinkedIn profile and personal website) when considering you for a job. Make sure to showcase your skills and accomplishments online and keep your profile up to date.
- Apply for relevant job openings: Keep an eye out for job openings at DeFi companies and apply for positions that align with your skills and experience. Apply for DeFi Jobs without Experience. Tailor your resume and cover letter to the specific job you're applying for and highlight any relevant experience or skills you have.
- Consider internships or volunteer work: DeFi Internships or volunteer work can be a great way to get your foot in the door and gain valuable experience in the DeFi industry. Many companies also offer internships to students, so consider applying for an internship if you're still in school.
- Be persistent: keep trying if you don't get a job right away. It can take time to find the right opportunity, but with the right skills and determination, you can land a job in the DeFi industry.
